    I'd say a fact. Don't see why a horn couldn't grow a bit squint.

Besides, there are Narwhals. Who'd have believed a whale could sport a huge horn.
I stole it off a space ship.

I'd say the horn on the deer was legit as a genetic oddity, as for dubbing the whole story unicorn foxnews need to take a few valium, the dopey spackers.

Well, all legends usually have a factual origin, as the article mentions.

Very true young sir, thats where the idea of dragons came from...digging up dinosaur bones etc and assuming they were dragon remains.

that doesn't make sense, why didn't they just call them dragons then. did someone come along later and say there weren't dragon bones but dinosaur bones.

No...because Dino bones were only actually recognized as such during the mid to late 19th century.

How long have dragons existed in one textual shape or another (folklore, myth, stories, books, etc) ??? 500 years, thousand, two thousand, just about since the dawn of our existence?

How long have dino bones been around, in the academic sense? Late 1700s? Early 1800s?

How am I misunderstanding your putting the two together?

(well, now I saw Beanzies reply to Mile (still not getting the initial comment though.))

    Well...

For the hundreds/thousands of years before dinos were identified as to being actual animals and not magical mythical creatures, the bones were found.

Bones found all over the world hence different cultures all having dragon legends, bones would lend credence to the stories etc.....

So....in popular culture dragons were around for hundreds/thousands years and seen as these magical/mythical creatures. In the 1700s/1800s (whenver it was) these bones were seriously looked at and established as non-magical/mythical creatures and in fact just big old lizards.

So thats how the 2 go together.....the idea for dragons and 'proof' for hundreds of years probably came from uncovered bones....they were in fact just unidentified dino bones.

I think Fox News are about as legit and believable as the Weekly World News rag, if that answers your question.

I remember reading an 'Ed Anger' article where he was complaining about sex and violence on TV in the US, and said things should be more like the UK....because the UK only has one TV station and all of it's content is governed by the Queen

He did suggest that Hilary Clinton should run for President many years before she actually did though :)
