Sorry to hear that. Must be tough when you've had a pet that long, even if it does just walk around the garden doing bugger all else. :(

Yeah, they live for ages... Apparently, mine is (in human years) about 31-32, a few years older than me.

The summer definitely didn't come to Aylesbury today. It's been raining since before first light this morning and is still going now.

I'm starting to think that the weather patterns are correcting themselves back to what they were like during Victorian times.

Which means damper cooler summers, and colder, freezing winters.

Did they have such strong heatwaves in the UK 200 years ago?

Think they did many years ago in Europe.

I saw some drawings of Joan of Arc and she was sunburnt like anything

No such luck....visit the parents, drive around bored with them for a week. Grunt in my brothers direction, see a couple of loser friends etc.

It's more of an obligation than a holiday.

The bright side is I can collect the speccy stuff sitting at my parents that I bought on Ebay UK and had shipped to them.

EDIT: This means your Speccy+ ZnormXman!

With the rain still about, I'm now looking for a possible alternative to Amsterdam.

Washington DC isn't too hot right now, and seems to be getting cooler.

And I found this hotel which looks irresistable: http://www.hotelhelix.com/

Any room that comes with an Etch-a-Sketch can't be bad.

    Booked. Can't wait.

Current weather is hot, sunny, low humidity, plus the odd lightning storm.

I haven't been to the States since Xmas 2000 (NYC - the Xmas before 9/11), and I'm bloody excited!
