Pitty, I would really like to get my hands on it, many others too I suspect :)

I am always interested in selling such items - IF I can find a reliable source to make the hardware at a reasonable price.

Unfortunately, I have had that many problems with the DivIDE Plus, I wonder if there is anyone with sufficient expertise and time to make these hardware projects a reality.

For information, I have now lost contact with the third person who has been making the DivIDE Plus units - and wonder whether that is another 20 kits of parts which have now disappeared,.....

    Any more RELIABLE volunteers?
    Supporting Sinclairs since 1986 !

I'm finished with a new memory extension for original Divide interface. This is low-price upgrade to 512kB sram and 128kB rom. And exist version of RESIDOS for my upgrade too. For Divide upgrade you need:
    1)SRAM 512kB (628512)
    2)FLASH EPROM 128kB (at29c010)
    3)GAL22V10
4)replace original R-GAL chip on Divide with my new XR-GAL (gal22v10)

New upgade support memory paging full 512kB (used all bits on Divide paging port)
Allram mode 16kB paging (full 512kB)
Allram mode 8kB+8kB layout (full 512kB)
    Software controll of EPROM jumper(JP2)
    Possibility reset MAPRAM mode.
ON / OFF DivIDE memory mapper

This is my original Divide (boxed) with new upgrade + SDtoIDE adapter.

Board is designed for possibility work as K-MOUSE 2006, new version 2008, emulation of Kempston joystick or Sinclair joystick.
Compatible with DIVIDE PLUS (full usable kempston joystick and kempston mouse)

Cool! I just purchased the Xilinx Chip and socket too. I hope, it has the same PIC as old K-Mouse. Waiting now for your release of K-Mouse 2011. Sinclair/Kempston switch sounds great! I also wait for your Joystick interface with redefinable keys.
Whats the difference between K-Mouse 2006 and 2008?

Nobody uses the video output because the quality of video out on expansion bus is very poor.

Yes, PIC is same for all K-MOUSE versions.

But this is K-MOUSE 2011 :) On photos is redesigned and modified PCB of old version 2008. Version 2008 is never released. All existing K-MOUSE interfaces use old PCB version 2006 but with modern firmware for version 2008 + some patches.. My new version is better than 2008.

But it's not switch for select between SINCLAIR and KEMPSTON. You can connect one smd resistor in two positions. One for SINCLAIR and second for KEMPSTON support.

Version 2008 use better features, better compatibility, better support for MASTER/SLAVE mode, inhibit feature, better joystick connection, better software suppport, possibility read port #7FFD, new PCB design (no need patches).

Yes, video out on ZX bus is bad, but this connector can be unused.

OK, then waiting for releasing the 2011 version schematics and Firmwares on your homepage ;)

but this means, I can make a switch with resistor on common point, if I will redesign the PCB. Right? Better than desoldering the SMD Resistor if I load a game which has Sinclair-only control.

I got two patched versions of 2006 from Ben, they work great. Now I know the differences. Thanks!

Or the space can be used for a Kempston/Sinclair switch.

Not 100% tested, later.. But mouse work and features too. :)

Cool, I love it, very clean... I guess, you are using resistor network sockets for testing only.

Yes, sockets is only for testing version.

    PCB need small modifications:
    - change some smd1206 resistors to type 0805
    - move position of USB connector (this is only cosmetic fix

As last step I rewrite firmware of CPLD chip. New version can use next features as:
    - readable border color (last writed value to port #FE)
    - 100% identical kempston joystick mode (uncomplette adressation - work all games)

Firmware can support only KEMPSTON or only SINCLAIR joystick(keys 6,7,8,9,0) but no both or switchable.

K-MOUSE 2011 is 100% tested and 100% stable. Also modern versions of PIC controller (PIC16F627A/628A) can be used. Mouse and joystick stability is perfect. Actually exist only firmware for KEMPSTON joystick.

Next firmware can support sinclair joystick (keys 6-0) and kempston joy. Both will switchable (no need any hardware modification). But state of port 7FFD will not readable and slave mouse support will removed.

    @Velesoft

Truly some fantastic and inspirational stuff!

I hope to be able to use either this adapter or one like it with the MAX WIMP software (I forget the full name of it atm) in conjunction with my 128K toastie / Interface 1 (+MicroDrive) and MF128

so would this work on the original 48k / 128 / 128+2 (Grey)?
what about the +3 and +2A/B?

K-MOUSE work on all ZX models/clones. Only sinclair joystick support is impossible use on +2A/+3 models (this computers can't use external keyboard based interfaces/joysticks). Then on +2A/+3 is possible use original firmware with KEMPSTON + FULLER joystick support.

So is anybody making this as a finished unit or is it just a design to 'roll your own' with ?
  • edited July 2011
The "USB" socket is just for connecting dual protocol mice as PS/2 right?

K-MOUSE use only PS/2 protocol = only PS/2 compatible mouse. If USB connector is used then you can connect any USB mouse signed as PS/2 compatible (mouse with USBtoPS/2 adapter in package).

Yes, is possible order K-MOUSE 2011. Price is 46 EUR + postage. But actually I must solder ZX-VGA adapters, please wait.

    An ablolute beauty. Excellent!!!!!
When will we be able to order and how? Will there be a special page for this on your site? Will a case be included or will there be an option to include one by paying more?

    Preorders at mail: sprinter2000(a)quick.cz

Plastic case will included, but only incomplete:
    pct.622-420.1.jpg
For use with K-MOUSE interface need some modifications...drill...
  • edited July 2011
Good to know the plastic casing is included. The modifications are easy to do.

Tried to sent a preorder to this email (with @ instead of (o)) but the address doesn't seem to be right. You meant to write sprinter2000(a)quick.cz right?
