I appear to have a screw loose.

In fact, I've lost a screw or 20.

While fixing up Speccies one thing I've noticed is losing the screws that hold them together. Therefore, a quick question:

Does anyone know what measurement of screw they are so I can get some replacements? I don't really know much about screws.

Ta!

Those blessed screws are like gold dust, a while ago I had the screws from about 10 machines, in a packet, go missing. It took me weeks to find it, I am usually far more careful with things, but when you are so organised and something still vanishes, you get very worried. I don`t do metric, so dont know the size, but then I think they were purpose made for the Spectrum. I have seen some machines ruined by wrong screws being used. There have been cases of sets of these screws, coming up on E-bay, which have sold for more than the price of a wrecked machine, CRAZY! The moral seems to be, buy scrap machines and salvage the parts.

If my measuring makes sense, they are:

    Countersunk 1/2" long X 3/32" thick:

    Countersunk 6/16" long X 3/32" thick:

    Roundhead 6/16" long X 3/32" thick:

These are the most common ones used, hope sizes help.
