I've seen them all, apart from the Christmas Special yesterday, many times but I've never got the wife to see them as she's... well, the golden age of TV passed her by, put it that way when the kids came along.
Finally I convinced her to watch Detectorists on iPlayer and we've binged seasons 1 and 2 in two days. We have never done a TV show like that together. I'm gobsmacked we have.
I'm so looking forward to the Xmas special from last night and sharing it with my wife.
A curry, a bottle of champagne and watching it together. I'm looking forward to it more than anything in years.
Went to see "Avatar - The Way of Water" today with my family, who all loved the first Avatar.
It's a fantastic movie - if a bit too long. Don't listen to the few negative reviews - if you liked the last one, you'll like this too. The story and plot are nothing amazing, but the cinema experience is breathtaking!
There are a lot of effects-dependent movies these days (Marvel et al), but the visuals in this are unbelievable! Even during the quiet, interpersonal bits you need to pinch yourself that what you're watching isn't real. The CGI animation of motion-captured actors is almost always utterly convincing down to the smallest details!
So go watch it for that old-fashioned feel of watching a proper blockbuster!
Was watching a bit of this old horror movie (Night of the Demon) - I don't know how what others think of it, but the bit that made me nearly jump out of my skin wasn't the demon. Its that train that appears suddenly with its whistle blowing! Brilliant jump scare moment. IMO
Was probably only on for 20 minutes, because I’m sure they’ll have edited out everything that’s deemed as offensive these days to liberal white millionaires masquerading as communists :))
What can I say, this is the reality of Germany in 2023 ... I'm sure many people have a completely wrong image of what's it like in this country ... I mean, it's not that bad everywhere of course (Berlin is just an utter sh*t hole), the big cities are the worst in this regard and "cultural enrichment" is growing each year.

I recall Towering Inferno and Earthquake used to be on nearly every Christmas or New year
Reminds me I need to watch Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence again at some point.
