After ten years in UK, I'm no closer to discovering what crumpets are.

I love crumpets. A nice hot crumpet or two with butter and peanut butter on it would be my midnight special.

aye, it certainly captured that cheeky humour of those films.

The man was a legend, my grandfather worked with him on the Carry On films and he said he was just like his character in the films. Including the roving eye...

Must be a tourist or a regional thing. Don't recall seeing crumpets ever. Not in Dundee, thats for sure. A Wallace pie, yes, crumpets, no.

Just to confuse matters further, I think they call them pikelets in North Lincolnshire where I am now. I was sent in to get some once, but came out with something resembling sardines

    *snicker snicker* "Midnight Special"

Anywho ... it's midnight over here and I'm hungry.

I just fried three eggs over hard and then dumped a can of VanCamp's beans and pork on top. Then plopped it over lightly buttered slices of bread.

I usually use baked beans but decided to live erroneously this time around. Was mildly surprised at how good the beans were, lightly sweet and the pork added a surprisingly enjoyable flavour to the concoction.

What kind of midnight-cookin' do you usually go for?

Eating beanz at midnight is always a good choice.

    I like cold pizza myself.

Just some toast smothered in butter, and a nice mug of tea for me.

Though I've also been known to munch through an entire pack of choccy biccies or or a full size tube of Pringles if I get late night munchies.

Otherwise, if I'm on my way home after a night on the lash, then I'll opt for a chicken kebab or a KFC every time.

I can only have KFC every once in a great while. Once a month is sometimes too soon for me.

I always feel like I have a ballooning lump of lead in my tummy afterward.

A friend of mine eats there nearly every day ... about 3k calories each time.

I do like their fried okra though, never had had that before I visited them.

Home made pickled eggs (2) a big lump of Cheshire or Edam Cheese with Tomato Sauce and lots of salt on the eggs. Normally with a cup of coffee or can of full fat coke.

    I don't have nightmares.
