special powers

edited September 2008 in Chit chat
this decade is dedicated to comics2movies remakes,
it´s swarming with super heroes once again,
they finally act, behave and look real (mainly thanks to ultra authentic and powerful CGI) ....
so I wonder if any of you posses any special powers too...

guess, amongst wossers (as it´s a special place to be first), it´s obvious some would have!

(ok, I know mel´s reply will be the first one here,
but everybody else don´t be shy and tell the rest ;) )

Yes, I have. I got them from this guy in a back street in Camden, who was selling two ounces for... oh, what? I thought you said special powders.

    *shuffles off uneasily*

    I believe I can fly....

But that might just be the effect of the meds.

I'm capable of talking utter bollocks any time of the day if required. Is that what you were looking for?

I have lucid dreams but only when I am awake.

I have 2 superpowers (it's true and documented).

    1) Whenever there is smoke, either made by cigar, firplace, fire, whatever, in a room filled with people, the smoke will be atracted to me.

    2) I have the super habillity (actually this was the first super power I discovered way back when I was a kid, and i still have it!), to stop any kind of wind as long as I'm trying to launch a kite! every time I decide to launch one, there may be a storm, a tempest, a dam tornado, all wind will stop as soon as I put my hand on the dam kite and run outside...

now if only I could find a way to make money with my powers...

I can make people ring my phone, without asking them to... But only when I've just started eating my dinner, or when I've just stepped into the shower, or when I'm hanging off cliff with one hand etc!!

    that?s ingenious!
you?re really a handy guy, pal,
should be taking you out with us everytime we go for a beer and sit at smoker?s places, your ability should help us not to smell bad after :)
(the other halves will appreciate that a lot, I can tell you!)

    and stopping the bad weather...?!
    usefull detto
I?d check your genealogical tree if I were you for some druids if that wasn?t perhaps the reason of it all ;)

i think i am your arch nemisis.

    1) whenever i am smoking, the smoke doesn't stay around me, it floats away into people eyes, making them complain

    2) if i am lighting a cig outside, suddenly a wind will appear making it hard to use my lighter.

    Yes, I've got some powers.

I seem to manage to intimidate a lot of people in real life. I confuse them simply by being. No..yes...nooooo...YES...no no no..yessssss. Those who break taboos are always feared or loathed or admired or hated...thats a real power being able to instill that in people, even unwittingly. Being once on the other side, that gives me the knowing of people.

I've got that one too. Mind you I'm 6'3" and 250 pounds of pure geek. They don't know if they should be more scared of the fact I'm built like a Rugby forward (currently sporting a broken tooth to complete the look) or the fact I could replace them with a couple of dozen lines of python and have no qualms about doing it.

I'd have to say my special power is the social faux pas. I am Aspergers Man and I wear my underpants only in the winter.

i know what you mean mate, when i used to shun undercrackers it'd always be bad in the winter, cos ur dick wud shrivle up and made you jump when it touched to ice cold zip. which is embaressing enough, but more so if u jump, shoot you mit down you pants while in a bus queue. (you look like a creepy micheal jackso, if thats possible)

also wearing undies is handy if you ever shit yourself.

Then why do you get so upset by my presence and jump on my posts in a way you don't with others. You've got a massive chip on your shoulder, sunshine.

Nah, you reserve a special tone for me. It's more than what you do with them. I know that tone..or maybe I am slightly paranoid, but it's the kind of tone I've had a lot in the past. I guess i should feel blessed to be counted as your pal then.

yeah the problem is it's a big spectrum and nobody can agree on the different labels to give people. I asked for "Aspergers or related High Functioning Autistic Spectrum Disorder" because I didn't want a label that might end up meaning something distinct in the future and it took 5 years of fighting hard to get that through a good respected NHS doctor rather than bunging a few hundred quid to a private practise.

it's in your head. i talk to them all different. id say the posts i do to karingal are harsher, and the ones i do to boozie and znorx are softer with smilies cos they get down from time to time and wonder about how people treat them on here. i talk to beanz like i do to you cos you are both strong characters. and i talk to psj in a diff way as i am more closer to him than most.

not saying thats all true about these posters but thats how i percieve it. and i only picked them at random, i do have lots of pals on here, and lots of people i bait.

i will be more carefull about what i say to you in the future.

Oh yeah, NHS, I dealt with them for a few years over my 'problem', till i gave them the finger. I know what you're talking about. You have my undying support. Sorry for poking my beak in.

Awww, come and have a hug.

Oh, I don't mind really about any tone. I'm bored out my mind at the moment and I like a mild slagging match now and again, as long as it doesn't get overly personal. You're all beautiful people to me.

i once went through the child health records in our area. saw a lot of ASD children in there, the label was usefull for classifications if somewhat wrong for a disorder with so many levels. but the clinical notes would always be taken into account and that's where the real diagnosis would lie.

glad you got through the bullshit.

Hey, that's funny! I know this guy who had exactly the same thing. It all started when he was young, and really mad about vintage farm machiner(Snip long rambling joke that everyone's heard before. Ed)and she said, "That's amazing! How did you do that?" And he said "Easy - I'm an ex tractor fan."
