Ok...well I suppose the worst that could happen is I dont get to play....so banned or self banned the result would be the same!

Secondary question. Is it ok to update after the DVD hack...the update doesn't 'undo' the hack?

The update won't touch the firmware on the DVD drive. But again i'm not sure if the new dashboard will detect it and flag you for banning, offline! Probably not but it's a fact that you can get banned offline if you have the new dashboard and play a copied game with the new protection scheme, i think Fable III was the first to have it.

Sorry for going off topic. But you can change the HD's in a fat PS3 with any 2.5inch sata drive :) I've got a nice 500 gb drive in mine :)

If you havea slimline one your probably buggered.

Yeah, well, at least I'll be able to play some of the new gen games without having to give m$ the money :-D (I don't really count the Wii as new gen as it's basically the 'Cube with a sensor controller.)

They've only ever had money from me for XP and that's possibly the last time they'll get money from me unless there is a new version of Windows that's as good as XP. But I highly doubt that
A lot changes in a year. I bought my 360 in august 09

Probably one of the best things I've bought.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

You can change the drives in PS3 slims too. Any 2.5" drive with 5400RPM speed (like the ones supplied with the PS3) should work.

Ok...thanks for the info, Guess I'll not bother. Maybe pick up a secondary 360 at some point if I decide I want online play.
