Would it be unfair to say that Clive Sinclair was to Jim Westwood as Steve Jobs was to Steve Wozniak? I don't want to take anything away from Sir Clive, but given the people that worked on his products I'm struggling to see his personal involvement. Did he just dream up the ideas (which is still important). Is he a latter day Edison?

I probably isn't unfair to say this but even so Sir Clive is clearly a brilliant engineer and the glue that held everything together, he probably knew more about the overall picture than any of the engineers that worked for him.

We wouldn't be having this discussion if it weren't for Sir Clive, he certainly brought the vision and the direction but more importantly he had the drive. He is a doer and without him we wouldn't have seen the calculator, the computers, the pocket TV etc.

From that perspective his personal involvement in the products was massive.
