Me Wii
I've got a Wii, well not yet but it's on it's way, I pointed out to the wife that you can get one from game with Mario Party 8 and Lego Batman for ?200
next thing I know sh'e ordered it with Mario Kart with Wii Wheel and bonus wheel, Lego Indiana Jones and Wii Play.
It's time like this that I remember why I married her.

Yes, but remember it was her that ordered it so it'll be her's and not yours.
Which means she'll moan at you for playing on her console :-P
That Batman Lego looks great, pity I don't have the money to buy it myself.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

And a modchip (I recommend Wiikey)
Wii's can now be soft-modded, and back ups of your legally purchased games ;) can be played, though you'll need a copy of Twilight Princess to do the initial hack.
Google 'wiigator' for more info
Not as good as a modchip admittedly, but it's free and easy
Browse to www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer on the Wii Opera browser.
The resolution isn't exactly HD, but it's still well watchable. An easy way watch get on-demand telly on your telly!
Of course 10 mins later she added up how much she'd spent on consoles in the last couple weeks and needed a bit of support to get over her buyers remorse.
The interface is in jap and i'll have to fix that with the AnyRegion changer I suppose. That didn't stop me from having a go at Twilight Princess, Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles and Top Spin 3 though!
Still have Mario Party, Mario Kart and Metroid Prime Corruption to explore. Didn't get Mario Galaxy unfortunately.
Now, to get the Homebrew Channel working on it and to install some nice speccy games on it. ;)

I did manage to change the system language and region settings to NTSC/U from NTSC/J. So everything is in English etc, which is a huge relief considering I had to plough my way through Japanese text screens to set up the wi-fi (a pre-requisite to patching the wii)!
However - and this is the serious part - my wii fails to boot any discs now presumably because my mod chip is still set to NTSC/J. I dunno what modchip is installed but I assumed it's wiikey but trying to run the update discs results in an "unable to read disc" error, so I seem to be kinda stuck with it.
The good news is that I've found an app called Menu Loader, which when run from the HBC allows me to run region free discs anyway, so all is not lost! Indeed I managed to run all the wii discs I had in this manner. I now have English language, NTSC/U settings and am able to run game discs (gamecube as well as wii). I haven't experimented with Wii Shop but then it's not high on my to-do at the moment. I'm just happy to have things working as intended!
Right. Anyone care to tell me what are the absolute must have homebrew apps for the wii? I already have FUSE, so you don't need to tell me that! ;)
Oh, and RE: UC is awesome fun to play!

:-D
If you liked RE4 on the PS2/XBox/GC then you should at least try the Wii version. You can get through it so much easier (and it's got all the PS2 bonus stuff).
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.
