Hedgehog action

edited November 2008 in Chit chat
Hi animal lovers! I gots a hedgehog in my shed! We saw it the other day quaffing down cat food and now he's made a little bed in the corner out of kitchen roll. He/she is right up against the big tumble drier and the cats don't seem to mind at all. Just a simple question really, how is the poor little sod going to get any seasonal shut-eye if there are people coming and going, using the tumble drier etc. do they sleep that deeply they dont give a fig? Hedgehog expert please.

But check your cats for fleas if they've been near the hedgehog (they will at least have sniffed it I suspect). It might be for the best to get some fipronil-based flea spot treatment from the vets as a preventative measure.

Aye Hedgehogs are rife with the little blighters, had to fumigate the house when my ma brought one home from work, the other hedgehog it was with had suffered the bus wheel treatment, and some scallies were booting it around like a football.

The fella who brought it into the vets chased them off, or something like that, anyway we looked after it for a day or 2, I can't remember but I think it died either way?

But defo get ready to fork out for some Nuvan Top and some Nuvan Staykil (or equivalent topical and domestc flea preps).

Just video it for a while and send it in to Bill Oddie for Autumnwatch. If you lucky someone might visit you about it, if you're really lucky it might be Kate Humble...

Thats true... she's a honey, she can rearrange my hedgerow anytime. I thought hodgeheg fleas were the fox ones - didn't like cats... or is that cat fleas can't feed off people. One of them is correct. I'm sure of it.

I think hedgehogs are quite cute. Have you seen one run? They can certainly move!
