Either those people are idiots, or doing it for attention (very expensive way to attract attention though...) because each and every Wii game, has a massive warning screen at the start telling you to use the provided wrist strap.
And let's face it, you'd have to be a bit of a numpty to actually throw the controller, wouldn't you?
It's a fake video. Plasma TV's would smash in a completely different way to that - it's glass remember covering those screens, and the whole thing would shatter. I should know, I've broken a couple as an experiment!
Mind you, in response to the thread title, I think LCD's would not fare well against a Wii remote either you know!
If I had done something like that when I was younger she'd be chasing me up the street with a breadknife shouting about how I was grounded for 2 years, and how I wasn't getting any present for my birthday or christmas or easter for the next 5 years.
She actually did ground me for an entire year once, I set fire to my bedroom carpet in late 1985. Didn't go out again until mid to late 1986, that messed me up that did, seriously :D

NO SOUP FOR YOU!! COME BACK ONE YEAR!!

DmBoozie,
In that video you show I do not think the TV got broken. It looked like a CRT and at no time did they show a shattered screen. the sound effects were clearly dubbed on. The mother even says it's all right. They have just cut it at the right moment to make it look like it had been broken. My guess is they are trying to get $250 to be on Americas Stupidest Home Video's or somthing.
Now they guy in the first video is he saying Mama or Malla??

I don't think it was faked as I don't think the kid smashed the screen, I think he smashed the glass on the front of one of the panels of the entertainment center. That's probably why the woman isn't screaming at him.

The irony is of course that most grammar/spelling/punctuation correction posts contain a grammar, spelling or punctuation error :-)
Did mine? It looked fine to me, at least on the punctuation front (which is what we were discussing).
