I was wondering if anyone could help me find a emmulator that worked on my psp running firmware 5.02 and also how maybe to go about putting one on my partners DS! Any help greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, there is no way to run "homebrew" software such as emulator on any PSP with a firmware newer than v3.50.

Getting homebrew onto a DS is a question which you're probably better off asking on a specialised DS site, but after that you want ZXDS.

I don't know if you can run FUSE PSP on such high firmware (and I'm afraid Phil might well be right), but it's worth you e-mailing the author at:

    http://psp.akop.org/fuse

or posting in his forum, as you have nothing to lose. You really want to get FUSE PSP running, if possible, as it's brilliant and turns your PSP into a near perfect portable Spectrum.

    Best of luck, mate.

The best way is to find someone who have Custom Firmware from Dark Alex and make a Pandora to downgrade.

This is what my missus's son has done for him and his mates. They downgraded their PSP software using some specialist battery. I know it sounds strange, but I was only half listening when he told me.

It appears there is a way of getting back to the desired firmware:

    Not for the fainthearted though.
This is for custom firmware, and he has ORIGINAL from Sony.

Hi could you please explain it a little more as im not sure what your really talking about! Sorry!!
You have to find user with already patched console with CFW (Custom Firmware) (for example ewgf have it). There is a special program named Pandora, to make the battery work in service mode temporarily (as Sony service center's do to make the console unbrick). After that there are always a possibility to install any custom firmware you wish (and play any games from the memory stick without need to buy them :)).

Here is a tutorial how to do it: http://geekindisguise.wordpress.com/2008/08/09/how-to-install-custom-firmware-401-m33-2-using-dcv6/

But. Note that without CFW PSP you can't do anything, because you can't run any program => can't make a Pandora battery. Also note that not all Slim batteries can be patched to work in service mode (but you have Fat, so this is not a problem for you).
