Gamestation - Burton on Trent

edited February 2009 in Chit chat
Wandered into said shop today and managed to get a Mint PSone fully boxed and still in the plastic bags with 5 games for ?9.99, Also Duke Nukem Manhatten Project for 99p.

In the more modern era also got Blade Runner on HD for ?3.99.

First time in ages I have found anything like a bargain in GS for ages.

The manager of the GS in the Pallasades in Brum told me they are getting stocks in today of Xbox 360 HD players which will be going for ?25 including 5 films.

I'm wondering if the famed credit crunch means they might start to get a lot more second hand crap in and some decent stuff might be there at decent prices.

I've got that on blu-ray. It looks fecking brilliant - probably the most gorgeous film ever made and not a CGI scene in sight (and I quite like CGI when it's done right).

I had a quick look to make sure it was OK and the scene flying over LA with the gas flares looks really good.

I was in Gamestation last week and the only PC games they had was the top 10. The place had rows of xbox and PS games. Why so few PC games? Aren't they selling anymore?

No, because they're either already available on other formats, or watered down versions.

I (and I hear many film fans) consider "Blade Runner - The Final Cut" the benchmark by which HD picture and sound should be measured. The sheer amount of work that went into cleaning up the image and scanning in each frame was truly unbelievable.
