Georgio Moroder's Metropolis Redux
I know there are a few fans of the 1984 Georgio Moroder version of Metropolis in here who would love to get it on DVD, Well, now is the time!
There is only going to be a very limited run of these aparently ( as its a fan project, not official ) I got my copy in the post yesterday and its fantastic! brilliant quality in both sound and vision, and the colour tinting has been redone to a much moor subtle shade, the remastered soundtrack is even better than the laserdisc version too!
Get it while you can. You won't be dissapointed.
Also had a couple of extras too!

I still use my video to watch a lot of stuff , so I dunno whether to buy it on DVD or not....
But what I am looking forward to is the release of the near full version of Metropolis that was discovered in Buenos Aires last year. A couple subplots and gaps will finally be back in the film.

Oh yes, Blu Ray version is on the way....
Sort of glad thats happened, gives fans something to embrace rather than spit bile over next years remake
I saw there was a remake on the way ... and no doubt like the vast majority of film remakes it will be rather crap! Although is there any more info on the remake anywhere?

I have been after Metropolis for a while as part of my "100 greatest Si-Fi Films" so this looked like a good idea until I went to order one and found out the PAL version is out of stock :(

This version is the remastered edition with the original score ( a few muppets have put comments regarding the cheap an nasty release on this, very misleading )
You may as well wait a bit though as the upcoming DVD and Blu Ray will have the original score too.
Ooh, okay sweetie-socks! :S
Thankyou, I will save my pennies for that one for the original score. The Moroder fan-edit is now penciled in on my to-buy-in-a-couple-of-weeks list, along with the Thieves school game... That's if people remember to pay me. They often convieniently forget me :(
the 75th anniversary reconstruction release was the first time the original Gottfried Huppertz score was used this side of the original release as far as I know, this is also the version that was played at the 1926 premier and sent out to cinemas in 1927.
that it be
he was a very clever cat.
Perhaps he was ... this WoSser remains unsure.
not that cat, the cat that made films, thicko. :)
Well ... they had nearly a million US dollars for the budget of the film so I'd consider this "a cat that made films" ... thinno!
if i had a cat like that, i'd have it spayed.
If I had a money-making cat like that I*'d be rolling in moolah.
*read "cat first, then I" ... err ... "rolling in moolah"
The PAL one was back in stock last weekend.
Thanks ZX Beccy for pointing this out :)
