SNES site

Can anyone recommend a good fansite for SNES games - with reviews, comments, game voting etc. It doesn't have to have game downloads.

www.gamefaqs.com has a pretty interesting review section, it's all fan written not a single paid media influence. you get some good balanced reviews, and you also get fanboys hating, but anyone with a little bit of sense can work out when they're reading a haters review (check out my reviews for the arcade version of Splatterhouse, and Dahna Megami Tanjyo on the Megadrive :D).

www.rom-world.com has a review section but I have no idea what it's like, and I have no idea how to navigate it?

Yup, gamefaqs is pretty good although you rarely get balanced reviews on it. They're usually either 9, 10/10's or 5, 6/10's so you don;t get a good median from it - 5/6 usually means "crap" rather than "average", and 9/10 usually means good rather than excellent.

Still, it's a good site; the FAQs are generally excellent and the Q&A sections can be very helpful.

Something I like to do nowadays after years of reading all the stuff I found on google searches is search for "the best <machine name> games".
I never did that until recently and it pulls up some nice lists with detailed discussions about each game with screen shots.

I'm pretty sure no top 100 snes games links pop up on the 1st page when you google "snes game reviews" for example which is what I always used to do..........
