These go up to eleven

I was watching a video on the BBC News site and noticed that the volume control goes past ten. The same for BBC iPlayer.

I had a 30GB iPod and the volume was good. I don't hammer my earholes but it was just that little notch too high that you could go to. Now with my 120GB one, it doesn't go loud enough, they have done something!

IF you brought the new one in the UK then yes it does have a software based volume restriction. Frances on is even worse than ours.

It makes sense if you are using the standard IPOD headphones, but if like me you go and buy a nice pair of Sennheiser or Grado headphones then it really bites into the volume.

You can lift these restrictions, there are free software tools to do it that are available on T'internet.

The volume on my car CD player goes up to 30.

Was spinal tap every officially admitted to be a rip off of 'Bad news'?

The Comic Strip's "Bad News" and "This is Spinal Tap" were both filmed at the same time during 1982. Spinal Tap had done a comedy turn on ABC in 1978. The first spoof rockumentary was in 1978 - "All You Need is Cash" by the Ruttles.

One of Spinal Tap's numbers is on Rock Band or Guitar Hero and at the end the drummer explodes. :-)

I thought I explained in a previous thread that Spinal Tap was created 4 years before Bad News...
