Nervous But Excited!!
Well d-day is nearly upon me (3rd July).......:p
I'm VERY nervous but excited at the same time!!
Had a scare about a few weeks back at the hospital, they said the baby was small and under weight...and that she may have to have a c-section (they want to keep the little one in as long as possible...37 weeks I think)
My mrs has had her heart set on a water birth, so the thought of a c-section was unthinkable...but the baby's health comes 1st :)
Then last weeks check up went great!, told us the baby was fine!!! YAY!!!!!:smile::smile:
Roll on the 3rd July....then the "fun" can begin!:-P

That's really good news mate - hopefully everything from now will be plain sailing.
Try not to worry too much. The midwives know exactly what they're doing, just follow his/her lead and everything will feel errr, normal!!
If you think you're nervous now, just wait until the Braxton Hicks starts!! My fingers are crossed for you that everything goes as planned. Both of ours went very well, but I was very nervous for the first one as you can imagine. The second one I enjoyed much to the missus's annoyance!!
The best advice I can give you is get to the hopsital at the nearest sign of trouble - it's up to them to tell you to come back later. Try to be prepared for your missus being in agonising pain - it's natural, but your first instinct is to find some way to stop it. It will be a strange minute of your life that you have no possible control over.
One thing that really helped me and the wife just after ours were born was to give each other a complete night off from looking after the baby once a week. That night off is to do whatever you want, go out with mates, play on the computer, get pissed, whatever (prob just agood nights sleep!!!). You simply had nothing to do with the baby. The first 8 weeks are tough and this simple act of kindness towards each other makes a massive difference.
Thanks mate, much appreciated
Seriously though, hope eveything goes well for the three of you.
(by coincidence, my eldest daughter's 11th birthday is the day after)
This reminds me of two texts I got a while back:
A man goes into Marks & Spencer to buy a maternity bra for his wife.
The assistant asks "What bust?"
The man replies "The fuckin condom!"
Lady in labour shouting the usual stuff "Get this outta me", "give me the drugs".
She turns to her husband and says "you did this to me you bastard!"
He replies casually "If you remember I wanted to stick it up your arse but you said "Fuck off that'll be too painful!" Not laughing now are we?"
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

It must be exiting. Me and the wife often talk about having kids. Once I get myself in stable employment and a good mortgate I will be ready to have me own offspring.
Hadn't heard that one before
Also best wishes to you and your missus, Rubberkeys....not long to go now :)
You'll have to post a couple of photos when the baby's here, no putting colanders on it's head though
my GF got broody ages ago, i bought her a DS, she seems fine now.
We've got 2 (one of each model) so I have a vague idea what its all about. The best part is you don't remember the panic, desperation etc and focus on the good parts, first smile, first tooth, first word, first step. Take lots of pictures because they grow quick, oh and get a baby diary, keep the ID bracelet and put it in the diary.
LOL!
Reminds me of a mock-up advertisment I did once for a job (didn't get it) which was to get people to apply for the job itself.
With the image I put "People Wanted - All Formats".
