Greetings cards!

edited June 2009 in Chit chat
Recently I've had to buy quite a few birthday cards and others (it was my anniversary yesterday). I can't help noticing what a bunch of ill thought out and complete utter rubish greetings cards are these days.

I must have went to 5 diffent card shops. Birthdays, Card Wharehouse, Clintons etc. I found all their cards shit. They have

I ended up making my own birthday cards on my colour laser printer. The designs were great the the print quality shit. Now I make them online at MoonPig, it's not much more expensive than a shop brought one and you can put what you like on it.

I use moonpig a lot but i'm not normally bothered by cards, its whats inside it that counts.

Same for wrapping presents, the missus moans how bad my wrapping is or the paper, its all ripped up in seconds ! Doesnt matter !

who cares? when i have to buy one, i pick the first one i see. no one cares about what it on the front, they just like the fact that you have given them one.

i bet you get a chissy present and complain about the wrapping too. :D

i think you have too much time on your hands to be maknig your own. :p

Making your own is always better, maybe at Christmas you can make one with a nice photo of the 'scotty' family on the cover.....oh wait...no that wouldn't work...you'd be in it.

Yeah just go to Tesco and buy a 50p one. :)

I bought a load cheap at a boot sale, mostly plain without specific greetings.

There definitely needs to be more of a market for 'fuck you' cards imo for sending to enemies etc.

(Inside ditty could be something like this.)

I've sent you this card to let you know,
I don't really like you, in fact you blow,
Your not very pretty, witty or smart
Basically you're a worthless smelly old fart.

Hey, Hope you have a shit day!...beanz.

I once sent my step-brother a fake human turd in a presentation box, with a card, that said "I couldn't afford a present, here is something I made myself". Bought it from a tacky gift shop in the south-west. :)

I've had the same 'witty' birthday card two years running from my parents. At least there was a present...

i bought a card for a girls 21st, about 10 years ago, i only went off the front of the card which did look like a blonde girl, but inside i realised it was made out to a boy. so i had to buy another. i have kept the card in the vain hope that one day it will be appropriate for me to send it to a lad on his 21st. i'm thinking now that it might be easier to have a some children and hope that one of the boys turns out to be blond. it will mean i have saved at least 2 quid.
