Passed away at 52. Worked on Crash and YS in various capacities. You can find his rather good YS backpage articles "Only Kidding" on my site.

Awww, that's a shame. He was one of the few names I will always remember from my time reading Crash.

Very sad news, did want to leave a comment on that Shropshire site but cant seem to find a place to create a user account.

Crash was just the ultimate mag growing up, sad to hear this news

That is a shame. I loved Crash. I remember literally bouncing in the newsagent when it came out.

Very sad news. Will raise a glass tonight in respect.

Tragic, especially at such a young age. Crash was a superb magazine, and helped make the Speccy years so enjoyable.

Be nice if someone could write a nice tribute for him here, true speccy legend...

This is really shocking news, just awful!

I was a massive Crash fan. In fact I've been reading through them all again on my PDA and I've just started on Graeme's first issue as editor (Issue 19, August 1985).

    RIP Graeme.

This is really sad. I mean, obviously I never knew the man personally but his is a name that I directly link to my childhood via Crash and the Speccy.

Well, I guess this kind of thing will keep on happening to us as time progresses until the innevitable happens to ourselves.

    God, I'm depressed now.

Shame, but we all have to go at some point, it's such a shame it was so soon for him...

    RIP.

Oh man, this is truly sad news especially at such a relatively young age. He was editor of Crash during its prime and I consider his name as being one of those from my youth that I will never forget.

Utterly agree. What would be especially nice is if someone from Newsfield who worked with Graeme could write it up, but I don't think we have ever had a Newsfield contributor mention themselves on the forum IIRC. I know that Julian Rignall and Gary Penn were involved in the videogames scene for many years after. The last I remember JR worked for Virgin and GP had something to do with Rockstar, but this was yonks ago; maybe someone could contact them and pass the word on?

    RIP Graeme.

EDIT: I've just sent an email to Edge magazine who I know have had contact with ex-Newsfield folks in the past (Gary Penn, Julian Rignall). I've asked them to pass on the bad news and if any of them would be good enough to write a tribute.

There are email addresses for Roger Kean, Matthew Uffindel, Oliver Frey and Franco Frey here:

Should someone approach them 'officially' on behalf of WoS?
