    Good one Scottie :)

I was beginning to think cheese toasties were a vintage food that nobody ate at home anymore (and rarely at pubs now).

I don't even like cheese, but for some reason I like cheese toasties, especially with a little bit of onion.

It's probably cos' me and my mates used to snipe outside for a joint depending on which pub we were at, toasties are perfect munchie fodder, so the barmaid would usually get kind of annoyed when we were stumbling to the bar all bleary eyed every 15 minutes for toasties instead of pints :D

That's a great story. Made me laugh.

Is that a baked potato? It looks more like one of those tiger rolls.

    Curry looks OK though.

i was gonna say that or one of those 'cheese bread' rolls.

    Yeah, those are the ones.

Tiger bread is what Sainsburys apparently renamed giraffe bread, after that little girl wrote to them saying it looked more like a giraffe.

Lone Magpie probably held a demonstration outside the local Sainsburys afterwards... :p

I just had one of those legendary CLUBs where the biscuit is a bit broken so you get an extra thick chocolatey bit on one end and partially down one side. :D :D :D

That's the real life equivalent of getting a Willy Wonka golden ticket in your choccy bar..!

Someone was complaining to me the other day that Easter eggs were a rip off because they were basically a thin chocolate shell and were hollow in the middle. Got me thinking about what Easter would be like if they were solid chocolate all the way through...

As I kid I wondered what it would be like to get an Easter Egg sized Cadbury's Creme Egg and then eat the fondant with a spoon. Maybe Scottie knows? ;)

Some scraps for breakfast. A hot dog, an egg, some rice and topped with salsa. All on a flour tortilla (with some ranch sauce on it).

    styffood.JPG

Along with a couple of slices of buttered bread with eggs and salsa.

    eggysalsa.JPG

    MMMMmmmmmmmm ... ! *burp*

And had a mixed drink with it. Half and half Pepsi + milk.

Had loads of those, I got a few multipack ones with gold wrappers on them as well.

I actually got an all chocolate Kit Kat Chunky, when I was back in England before christmas. I suspect that will be something that never happens again.

WTF!!??? Half and Half as in Land o' Lakes, or half and half as in Arnie Palmy? Either way mixing either of those with Pepsi and milk you must be feckin' mental :o

You got it spot on -> As in Land O' Lakes and Pepsi, yes.

It's actually veeery good ... in my opinion, though I have to admit I prefer Coke and milk together. But it's a question of which you pour first because the milk can look funny/curdled if you pour it first into the cup rather than afterward.

Korean Style Short Ribs, with Broccolli and Brown rice with Sesame, ginger and Spring onion, and Garlic Sesame Ginger Sauce (which also has a load of other stuff in there as it's a reduction of the marinade for the ribs).

Here's my crucification of it slopped on a plate randomly ready to be inhaled :D

    My go at nachos:

    4tni37.jpg

The bottom layer is a tortilla sliced into chips with a pizza wheel and grilled with smoked paprika. Then melted cheddar and mozzarella in a microwave. Then a layer of refried beans. Then the round nacho chips. Then some chilli, more cheese, chillies fried in olive oil and dollops of salsa, sour cream and guacamole.

Looks tasty, and I've not seen those spoon forks in ages.

Hmm, a tray, not a TV dinner I hope? There goes the nation...:p

Sorry, I still don't have a dining table yet. Still got the odd box from when I moved in where one could go...

This is leftovers really, as I fancied some burrritos earlier in the week, but you end up with so much stuff once you've opened a pack of tortillas and a tin of refried beans that you end up eating the same thing two or three times in a row. So first time I had 60% of a tin of chilli in tortillas, then refried beans, then did this with all that was left. What's handy is a supermarket mini pack of mexican dips, with salsa, sour cream and guacamole, meaning you don't have lots of half-used jars left over. I think this one was Tesco's. And ASDA do a bag of mixed grated mozarella and cheddar, which is perfect for melting.

But I shouldn't have done those chillis - the air over where they were frying made my eyes water, and I've felt them going through at every stage of digestion.

Anyway, I hunted high and low for 'sporks'. Someone even suggested I tried 'runcible spoon'. But the magic words on eBay are 'Buffet Forks', where you can get packs for a fiver.

That looks lovely, and don't be coy about it. I've been to plenty of greasy spoons that have managed to balls up this classic. Just as Spagetti Olio is my benchmark for a good Italian restaurant, B.O.T is mine for a good cafe.

You lose points for failing to evenly cover the toast though.

    Get well soon.

Where is ZnorX btw? I'm missing those enormous bready saucer shots :-)
