Had this for me dinner this evening:

    25gs7ki.jpg

Two wraps with rice, mixed beans, chicken, fajita seasoning and a touch of hot sauce and mayo. And in the middle some south america pastry parcel things full of beans and tomatoey goodness. Wee dollop of tomato sauce on the side. :)

= automatic disqualification due to items on plate < 20..

besides it's actually 3 bits of bread stuck together to look like one ;) . the bit of paper covers one of the cuts, and the other one is at the top at the back.

A really awful cheeseburger my wife brought me from some scabby little burger place somewhere between here and Nashville.

She said they were really good.

She's a chef I don't understand what's gone wrong in her head, it looks worse than a value menu burger from McDonalds, it smells awful, and actually tastes like one of these :o

    5-goblin-brand.jpg

Which is never a good thing, these things should have been illegal.

I will say though the Westlers ones at least tasted OK even if they were made from mechanically reclaimed chicken feet, and pigs foreskins.

    Did you eat it?
By the way, has anyone ever tried those Rustlers Hamburgers? You're taking your health into your hands eating them, they're rank!

I used to love those cheapo catering tinned burgers that used to come in a bun at the Speedway meetings. I have tried to get some tinned ones over the years and it appears that they only come from a couple of supermarkets which are way out of town and I have no transport. I don't wan't to pay ?20 on Taxi fares to get them !

Scary and a nice reminder of how things work. Usually there's a reason why certain things are so cheap and often you just don't more than you pay for.

Sadly I have to admit that I'm not above buying cheap crap foods. ALDI has a frozen lasagne that I eat at least once every two weeks. It's 400 grams and has 11% beef and 4% pork in it - that's very little meat for a product that weighs 400 grams, and only god knows what parts of the animals they're using. Still, they taste okay and with a dollop of my homemade chili sauce on top it's quick and tasty. But I'm probably better off not knowing anything about how it's made to be sold for ?1.36.

Probably soylant green, it will only be a matter of time before human bodies are recycled for the raw products for things like minerals and pet food, transplant organs and anything else they can salvage.
