I had mince left over the other day, and well bored of the usual spag boll etc..

as some say shepards .. some say cottage etc... it was beef mince.. over did it with the ingredients , but ah well.. first time I ever made it.. used a tad too much garlic and was worried I'd break the dish I was cooking in.

looks quite good that. did you use a colemans packet?

i know they are kinda cheating, but they do provide a really creamy tasty sauce, and shouldn't be knocked over the real thing.

bit of an effeminate plate though.

i assume you put some veg with it, and not just ate it on its own, its a casserole, not a stew.

as for me, my journey with the red wine vinegar continues. i put eaqual ammounts of it and beef stock over some softened shallots, and reduced, added a bit of mustard and pepper and used it for a sauce over steak.

its how the recipe described, but it still tasted too vinegary. might just get a bottle of red for cooking now as im getting a bit sick of that taste.

yer it was , tesco is doing em and shwartz ones at 1/2 price.. and after the pie the other night, I really couldn't be bothered.. that was no sauce. (stock etc)

not the owner of the saucer, it's more a "platter" but handy for stacking up.. but if you want effeminate .. I'll start calling you "love" of "my dear"... as I know thats a northern thing, right duck ? ;-)

well I cook for myself.. so it's a bit much to be eating any more than that.. I think I had a tiger roll with it.

maybe it's your pallet and it needs adjusting to it and yer cooking things with a "samey" taste is a hassle.. having beans on toast is a nice change for me..lol

    not between two men. :p

if northeners are calling you 'love', id suggest dressing differently as you're giving off the wrong signals. ;)

no they don't really, but I don't care.women used to say it a lot when I went up there. although a gay waiter did try to chat me up years ago when I was out with my girlfriend for a meal.

I was annoyed, more the fact of how he ignored her tbh. she found it highly amusing. then said I was homophobic , all coz I thought he was really rude to her.. can't win.

there is a funny pic a friend showed me of him and his mate at a party, and a drag queen turns up.. and gets the photo taken.. the other lad is clearly miffed with it, so the drag queen embarrassed him even more.. well funny, look on the blokes face was priceless.

but the plates are a handy anti piracy device for someone on that has the other plates I use.. and could post fake saucers of my "creations"

yeah those slates look wierd, ive seen them on fancy cookery shows. as you can imagine they haven't made it up north yet, as all the chips would roll off onto the floor.

There's a pub near where I work that serves lunch off breadboards. Don't think they're trying to be flash, it's probably just because the sheer amount of food won't fit on a normal plate. After having one of those and a pint I'm surprised anyone actually goes back to work. Never had anything off a slate though. Maybe in the next series of Masterchef someone will serve their food off a hub cap or something..

Or maybe straight onto the table, as artisticly the concept of mere plates is disgusting.

Another lovely friday. My favourite spagetti arrabbiata, latitudinally enhanced bread slices, and rare for me, tinned sardines fried in garlic and chilli. Glass of vino.

My favourite salad (looks rather smaller): potato, egg, tuna, tomato, carrot, corn, fresh cheese, lettuce, stuffed olives and olive oil.

That does look good, but since I'm a picky eater I'd sub the tomato for beans, the mushies for fried or grilled onions, and the eggs for fried bread.

Ooh, looks tasty that does. With or without beans. Nice thick buttered bread too...

Did you manage to eat all that?
I would have had tattie scones instead of hash browns.
And the fried egg yolk has to be runny.

Not seen any white pudding since I was on holiday in Dublin about 7 years ago or something
