But again one reason is because of the amount of crap TV. I mean saturdays schedule used to be Bruce Forsyth and 'celebs' ballroom dancing, never liked ballroom dancing, rubbish, not my cup of tea.
Then after that we have Dr Who, think its great for kids myself but compared to US series i think its cheap as anything and i'm not a fan one bit.
Over on ITV you have Millionaire which used to be great years ago but now is like flogging a dead horse. Just hardly anything to watch on saturday night, dire tv.
I rarely watch much terrestrial tv, only seen a chunk of Big Brother as when i go to bed i just have the normal channels on my TV, so its one of the big 4 to watch as I nod off.
BB is beyond a joke though, i mean theyve done everything, tourettes, sex change, trannies, albinos, dont think theyve had a dwarf yet.
But people moan all the time ! Look at docusoaps, everyone was anti that here a while back, some of those are quite interesting but obviously they go too far what with 'celebs' w*nking off a pig etc on a farm. The original docusoaps (Remember Hotel about the Adelphi in Liverpool) were pretty good back in the 90's.
BUT despite all the moans thank god for dvds and downloadable shows from the US.
To me its a bit like music, sometimes i want to listen to my usual type of music, other times i think i want to hear some 80's, other times some rap etc.
Same for TV though, sometimes i want a great serious drama like The Wire, other times i want to watch some TV which is not brain taxing at all like Big Brother rubbish. Other times i like to watch a serious documentary, another time i want to laugh at the idiots on Jeremy Kyle. I know its terrible TV but just depends what mood you're in.
I must admit i'm hooked on these prison documentaries on Sky right now !

Dont think its exploitation, obviously Pete and his tourettes they took advantage of but give some credit to the guy, he must know the situation and how it works with tv shows, they exploit him, he gets tv exposure and wins BB. Hes done alright since the show and won 50k or whatever it was.
Sorry forgot about Vernon, he was superb, but catch 22, if he wasnt that size he might just be another failed actor in Hollywood, instead hes taking advantage of his size etc and done very well out of it.

Must admit its brilliant that we dont get any advertising trolls or that, top marks to admin etc. So many other forums (Including retro gamer) still have a few people sign up just to market dodgy stuff

i don't think you will ever get a 100% family forum on WOS, people will just forget and revert back to swearing or talking about killing reality tv celebs.
a kiddie forum like a ninty one will have loads of 24/7 mods to screen every post.
the porn threads might get deleted, but someone saying fluffy bunnies will just slip through the net.

well most people wont have arrived here and seen it as a family forum, like if you go to a nintendo site you are told straight away that it is a family forum.
i guess there does need to be a bit of an anouncment too, or people wont take it on board.
