Wasn't me! I was too busy bricking my netbook! (On the plus side, I've now got rid of Xandros and replaced it with Ubuntu, which is slicker in every way apart from full-screen Flash video) (And ordered a 1.5 TERAbyte hard disk for peanuts)

Referring to the "cold caller" thread, Martijn got called by some annoying twunt a dozen times today, so finally he lost it, went apeshit and in his rage accidentally damaged the server - cables ripped out and broken. So he had to go out to get some replacements, which took a while.

    Eh, maybe.

I think I know what the maintenance was, they made Andrew Rollings a Mod!

Bugger he's on here a lot when the other 2 aren't I really will have to behave myself now :D

I've been here for ages, and none of you buggers could be bothered to download SAUCER from the thread I set up! And now that thread has vanished!

Gone now. You'll just have to wait for the next phasing.

Bollocks! I only noticed today, and I'd never have even thought of it if it wasn't for his "If I was a mod" post a day or so ago

It's the super burst of solar radiation coming towards our planet, that's why it's been getting hotter and hotter. When it hits us everything will die, everything!

    Can I have a pasty please? :D

Pah. Actually I saw that thread, but I was too busy checking out Sqij, one of the true landmarks in Speccy gaming. I doubt Saucer comes even close so I can live with missing out on it

    I saw Saucer's launch.

It dropped like a tape shaped stone.

    Had a nice cover.

The more recent feature additions to the forums required a rebuild of various tables; the search index and the 'similar threads' index.
While I thought it would be created in 10 minutes or so, it turned out to take 5 hours. :-o

Does this mean that the online chat won't disconnect you every 20 seconds now? It's the only substitute to the forum, and I couldn't even use that :(

So I just patiently waited for the forum to come back.

...well alright I did some other stuff but..... :D

You did realise the forums and chat are completely unrelated services, right?

The chat thingy gives more people trouble. I'd advise using a real IRC client instead.

Ouch. Is that the fault of VBulletin V3.8.3?

Yeah I know but I figured I'd ask anyway?

I'm not really keen on downloading an irc, I've been avoiding using one since 1998, and I don't intend to start now ;)

Nah, my 10 minutes estimate was purely based on hope.
If anything, it's the fault of the visitors, who post so many messages! :p

Well I for one am glad you got a new server else we would still be waiting.

Oh by the way do you know that the online IRC client is broken. It keeps disconnecting everyone about 10 seconds after they had connected.
