xbox 360 maknig funny noises.
my cd drive started making funny high pitch whines when it was running a disc, i ejected it and it made a low whirring noise which wasn't normal, it ejected alright but it went a bit funny when i put the tray back it, it sort of went back i at twice the speed and made an awful loud click.
ive put it flat instead of stood up and it doesn't seem to be doing any of these thisngs anymore.
is it a known problem and is it something i should be worrid about?

yeah i read that in the instruction when i bought it, tbh i read it as don't move it when theres a disc in, so everytime i moved it i took the disc out. :)
yeah it might have been off balance thinking about it, not by loads but a little maybe.
nice one i will leave it where it is for now, might stick one of those security locks on to stop the gf from moving it. ;)

I'm now on my third Xbox360 :(
Thats actually worse, the top side is where the data lives! The "play side" is just a clear sheet of plastic.
the data is on the picture? i never knew that, i always thought it was the shiney bit.
Although I suppose a fair few people must have been willing, or the machines would never have sold.
It still works...I finally got around to completing the game about 4 weeks ago ;)
i was just thinking that, should i lay it on its side.
maybe you have to use the big ones on their back and the small ones standing up.
Says who? There are rubber feet on more than one face, so it's designed to run both horizontally and vertically.
I started getting disk read errors some months ago and one of the reccomendations I read was to put the Wii horizontally, which fixed the error.
You said it yourself, while telling me I was wrong! Weird.

That said, I'm sure the optical drive is going to work better when horizontal.
From your post I got the impression you were saying the Wii was designed exclusively to run vertically. Not that weird.
That may be the case but I prefer mine horizontal. *Fnar*

you should get two wees and an eggbox and build a little mini stonehenge to worship the chuntey gods.
Then it will work fine
