Free webhosting RMD
Has anyone here got any experience of using a free webhosting service? Do you have one that you would recommend?
At the moment, I'm using 000webhost, who are... let's be diplomatic and say "insufficient". They like to move your site between servers without telling you (thus changing its IP address), FTP and HTTP uploads to their system have ridiculously low maximum sizes and frequently timeout - in the case of FTP your connection is broken as well - and they have low limits on memory usage in scripts (32MB). They also have a very prohibitive TOS.
I'm building a new gallery type webpage that's going to run on Google app engine but due to the engine's 1MB max data per API call, I'm looking to build an on-the-fly resizer / compressor script. Actually, I've already coded the script and ran it locally on my own server. It works, but it can't really stay on my server as my PC isn't on 24/7. The script does NOT work well on 000webhost, due to the aforementioned issues.
Basically, I need a webhost that allows approx 4-6MB in a HTTP POST, has PHP (with GD) and mySQL support. The script wouldn't get called very frequently, a few times per day at most. I probably sound like I want jam on it by now but if anyone knows of a host with these facilities, I'm all ears!
