Its an amazing game and shows what the Spectrum can do. It would be very interesting how they would upgrade the game apart from the graphics, but all in all its still a very good game for the time it was made and i still play it.
Deathchase is good, quick fun. It's certainly my favourite 16K game.
Technically, it's a clever engine with a small piece of gameplay code attached. All the trees are drawn as vertical strips (there's no space for a back buffer). A really tight squeeze into the 16K.
Does anyone know where Mervyn J. Estcourt is these days? I'm looking for permission to release a conversion of it for "another system" on Cronosoft.
