Best Stock-footage sites

edited September 2009 in Chit chat
Hey there you film-making folks.

I'm looking for free stock-footage, y'know like smoke 'n' fire effects, starfieds, general scenes, gunfire effects, ferrets being emptied, etc.

I found a great one that also featured, erm, free BettyBoop cartoons, but I can't find it now. There's gotta be a lot of 'em about, but I'm a tight bast and I don't intend to spend a single penny on 'em.

:)

Out-of-copyright Betty Boop cartoons sounds like the sort of thing you'd find at archive.org... (checks) yup.

BBC Motion Gallery seems to be the business for five-second clips of random weird things (some paid-for, but plenty royalty-free). edit: doh, no, scratch that... it's royalty-free as in "pay us lots and lots of money then they're yours to do what you want with them"

Thats it, thankyou! They also do a C64 video archive there (http://www.archive.org/details/gamevideos) Well, if they've got that, then A Speccy one to go with it is a MUST!

Now then, just need a few more free sites for SFX footage, but it's looking like there aren't any!
