The Google Wave thread

edited October 2009 in Chit chat
Anyone here fancy sharing Google Wave addresses for some potential collaborative shenanigans?

It's a bit lonely at the moment with only a handful of contacts.

It's going to replace email, facebook, and twitter (apparently). And content quality will probably take a similar nose dive to the one it did after the introduction of DTP, web publishing, ...

On the other hand, in theory it's a good idea.

    Well, I'm in.

I've also set up two public waves - one for speccy emulator authors, one for general speccy chat. Search
    "with:public Speccy"

    to find them.

It's a pity they have let the programmers design this thing. What a mess!

    I like the translation feature.

I think it works quite well to be honest. The biggest problem at the moment is that there appear to be no social norms for behaving in a wave, so this inevitably leads to people adding robots, gadgets, and replying to blips which are still in the process of being written.

I think as soon as people get over the immediacy and bells and whistles of Google Wave, it's uses will become a little bit more obvious.

How did you WoSsers get "accepted" so (seemingly) quickly?

    Can you send out invites?

    Robot=Rumba robot vacuum cleaner
Gadgets - Satellite TV and remote
Traversable timeline - Dependent on how much you drink :p

You wait patiently to be invited. There is a list. Invites take time to arrive, cos Google licks each stamp personally.

If I ever get any invites, I might spare one or two for folks here, but I have an obligation to use them in another forum.
