I have never heard of mice with stripes on their back.
And the pic doesn't show any tail either (might be a cropped pic, tho).
Am I wrong, or is this a hamster ?
~Maybe it's a tame "fancy mouse" hired out for a photo shoot, and the mouse was in no danger of the trap going off, cos mice with the right markings are quite expensive.
FYI...peanut butter works better than cheese in mousetraps.

But I used to find chocolate spread to be the best for mouse catching - I always used a humane mousetrap tho' so I was particularly good to my resident mice.
Those wire-spring things tend to catapult bits of mouse everywhere when they go off! I used to go on "mouse walks" where I would release them over the moors at weekends.
