Yes. It was a superbly atmospheric game. Does take some patience and perseverance to get going initially. Unfortunately, the patch to fix some of the major bugs the game (and you'll want that patch) screwed up my save files, and I haven't touched the game since. I suggest you apply all the latest patches before you start any serious gaming!

    It's just you :)

Just bought the game too. I tried it round a friends house ages ago, never got around to buying it though until now.

Nope, I had a fecking big one over the weekend. It came up "updating" then stuck at 3% for bloody hours. I killed it off and couldn't get steam back on.

I had to rename the steam directory, re-install steam, update the mofo (which took about 8 goes!) and then copy all the old game files back and validate them.

In the end no harm done. But when I was trying to get onto steam via t'interweb it kept telling me it had no record of my account...after about an hour it decided to let me in.

Wonder if steam/valve/whatever where having server issues?

When i was on it took a while to update was 3% for maybe 4/5 mins but once it reached 5% it flew through in a couple of minutes.

The first thing to try before doing all what you did is to close Steam, and then delete the Clientregistry.blob file from your Steam folder. Restart Steam and then log in. Any corrupt or deleted files are then reinstalled on startup.

You can also do this if you wish to move the entire Steam folder from one location to another (like if you wanted to move it to a different hard drive for example).
