TrackSuit Manager Updated?

edited February 2010 in New game ideas
Hello everybody.:p
I'm new in this forum, and i would like to know if anyone has information concerning the existance of a TrackSuit Manager update?:-?
I mean by update an update of the player names for more actual ones, and also an update of the national teams that no longer exist (example Czechoslovakia turned to Czech Republic, Yugoslavia turned to Croatia or Serbia, East Germany turned to Croatia or Serbia and West Germany turned to simply Germany)...
Is there anyone that can help me with this?:???:
If there's no such thing as an edited Tracksuit manager database, can anyone advise me on the best way to edit it? A program that could crack the machine code into a list of directories would be helpful, because it would give me the chance to edit it myself (i don't know programming code so it must be something really easy to use, like load the Z.80 or .TZX or .TAP file, crack the code, view the information, start editing and then save the final result to a Spectrum Emulator supported file type)...
Is this utopic, or there's a real chance to achive this?
Please help...
Thanks in advance!

    Hey chop983

Thanks for your reply, i already tried the Double editor, but it is only possible to edit the data on The Double game, and i really want to edit Tracksuit Manager.

But thanks for trying to help! If possible try to check on your acquantances for someone who knows a way to help me with this, please...

    Thank you!

But i'll give it a try on The Double too

I will do this for you. It will help me to stop playing games in that blasted Speccy Tour!

I still have the code to the double editor but its pretty useless for TM. It will be similar though and will work in conjunction with multiface again.

Come back in a few months :)

    This is now being tested.

    Now uploaded.

Advice is to use the editor at the 'The Month is July' screen and do a bit at a time on the small off chance that there's a bug. You know how it is trying to find your own mistakes. Exit the editor, return control to TM and save a snap. You can use an already edited snap at any time with the editor, it will work out where you left off before. Apart from that, just read the instructions.

As this year is World Cup year, I was thinking to just go the full hog and update all the stats as well but now I can't be bothered :) However, if anybody would like to do this, I will gladly show you how. It's simply a matter of sifting through 10,000 bytes or so of data with a calculator and pen. Once you see how the original programmer seeded the teams, you can then set about creating your own data, changing formations, full set of names etc. It's a long job no question and would suit somebody who is totally crazy about TM.

Meanwhile, here's the boys showing us a taste of things to come. Includes a nice double hat trick by Rooney (before he got sent off in true to form fashion) which I forgot to record in all the excitement ;)

I've finished my first update of TSM. :-)

Changed the obsolete squads of Czechoslovakia, East Germany and others, updatind them all to the current national squads, and inserting Bosnia, Croatia, etc. Also changed a few team positions, in order to give them a bit more realistic action, keeping up to the nowadays standards and FIFA squad rankings. ;)

Also made a few changes in Concacaf, Africa and Asian Qualifyers, such as the first appearences of Japan, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Honduras.

Unfortunetly i don't have a share web space available:-x, so i wont be able to post a download link here, but i'll e-mail the files to the great Bad Beard and i'm sure he'll put them available for download.

Now that i got the hang of it i'll start editing again, but now with a Club European Superleague! (this is a chilhood dream come true, now i'll enjoy every minute of it! :-P)

Thanks for the excellent job with the editor, Bandit!
The only thing missing to make it perfect is having an editor that could give us the chance to edit the players profiles/skills... Could this be possible?

Wow! That was quick! It's a great job my friend and here is your hard work as requested (Includes .SNA, .Z80 and .SZX). Got to admit I was sweating a bit in case it crashed :) Note: England Fans must read the instructions to edit the predefined England squad. No point doing work when you don't need to ;)

Yes, it is possible. You know what, I wasn't going to do this but I like your enthusiasm Faneka, so I am going to do it.

Perhaps a screen when in team edit mode to change rank, formation and the playing styles? On the players side, a screen to change their attributes, confidence, stamina etc.

Again, it will be a come back in a few months job but there still should be time to get a good World Cup version done. Maybe :)

    Nice one Faneka!

Fantastic, my friend! Can't wait for that attributes editor! :-)

Keep me posted if you need some held (...just can't find a way in which i could help, i'm a lousy programmer, but keep the intention...:p)

One more thing (sorry for being such a pain...), can you please explain how can i play with the edited england? I already inserted the pokes, but problably not in the right way because it did nothing... :-?

Yep, in the same place you start the editor ('Month is July' screen), apply the pokes. Then select 'Other' (NOT England ;)). You will see that the last team in the right hand column available for selection is now England and you can select and enter the names as normal.

Naturally, I recommend to do this after using the editor itself as you are getting close to starting the game at this point.

The England names you can change in the editor itself are the names that you will see when you DO NOT play as England.

They are two separate entities really and doing it this way meant I could skive out of doing a bit of work :) I might look at adding it in the next version but not sure yet as there doesn't seem any point?

Got it, friend. I'll give it a try.

Some other thing: I've just finished the Euro/World Club Superleague Update of TrackSuit Manager,i've already sent you an e-mail with the .sna and .z80 files. Please publish?

Note: I'm afraid there are clubs that could not be inserted in this update that definitely deserved to be there, but there is only space for 32... example: Liverpool was not inserted (sorry Reds fans), Valencia is missing, Fiorentina and Juventus are missing too... Well, hope i don't harm no one's feelings... :-?

Damn... Nothing happens... Tried it in the updated version, and in the original version, still nothing...

Maybe im not doing it right.

I'm working with SpecEmu. When i get to the "Month is July" menu, i'm selecting "Monitor" then "Poke Memory". it opens a window that has Address (0-65535) anda Value (0-255). It also has an option for "override paged bank at $C000", that i am leaving unchecked. When i type the 1st poke into the Address column it doesn't accept it, because it has those ,33 decimal parts. The same happens when i try to validate the 2nd poke entry...What am i doing wrong? Help?:-?

Blinkin' 'eck! That was quick! There is no stoppin' you! :-o Here is your Euro Super League version. Only received a .SNA though but have added a .Z80 too for good measure.

Nah, don't worry about missing those rubbish teams Faneka. As long as you've included my hometown club Bolton Wanderers and my adopted one, Leicester City, I'll be happy. You did do that didn't you? ;)

Right, here's the instructions for SpecEmu.

At the 'Month is July' screen, goto Monitor>Poke Memory.

In the address box, type 25148.
In the value box, type 33.
    Click 'Poke'
In the address box, type 25200
As the value box should already contain 33, just click 'Poke' again.
    Now you can 'Close' it.
In the game Select 'other' and England awaits.

Don't forget you still need to enter a new squad though, it's not waiting for you ;) You never got this option in the original though.

    Allright, now it?s kickin'!
    Thanks a lot, Bandit!
Now i'll go and win a World Cup or two with England, but soon i'll be sending you the Premier League+Coca Cola League+Uefa Champions League version of TSM (i'm already working on it, and i'll save a special place for Bolton Wanderers and Leicester City)!

    Cheers

Good to hear Faneka! Really loving your exuberance with all of this :) I'll get cracking and make a start on v2 this weekend.

    That's great!
I'll be waiting for that V2!!! Meanwhile i'll just keep editing. ;-)

While Bandit cooks up the V2 Editor, i've finished the British Cup Update. Get them here:
    .sna file
    .z80 file

Observations: Spurs fans must enter the poke, as if it was to play with England in the normal version.
Irish and Welsh fans have unfinished team and player names (the bytes weren't enough, sorry...)
Bantid: Bolton is a main contender in this version, happy playing!!

Not too long to go now Faneka. Just need to check a few things and I can send you a test copy. All the new options will keep you quiet for a year or two :)

I've sent it to you Luis :) Just remember that it's a 'test' version and to tread carefully although everything *seems* to be working as it should.

There are two different stats pages. Pressing 'S' whilst in team mode will take you to the team stats and pressing 'S' in player mode will bring the player stats up. There is also a rankings system incorporated, shown to the left of the teams which will be updated after each edit.

You can continue working on any of the superb updates you've made so far.
