Sonar Salvage (what "type" ?)

Sonar Salvage

Less of a "Adventure:Text" and more of a either "Simulation" or "Strategy: Management"

What do you WoSsers say about this?

I agree. In fact, even the inlay presents the game as a "Strategy" game so believe that's how it should be categorized.

Yup, thanks Arjun :-) ... I've just been playing the game quite a bit and I'm definitely leaning towards "Strategy: Management" ... what do others think?

"Strategy: Management" it is, then, as nobody disagreed.

As Arjun pointed out the inlay does say this:

"A more complicated strategy game. ..."

And I completely agree with that. You start out with a certain amount of money. You have to hire a boat, and depending on your finances you can hire different sizes of boats, and different sizes of groups of divers/frogmen. You are even given the choice of how much fuel for your boat you want to purchase. There is also a weather element, you can choose to go out during a sunny day or wait out a windy, stormy day (or part of a day). Then when you are finally in the boat, you can steer the boat anywhere on the waters and can even change the speed of the boat. You can decide to stop, throw out an anchor and send out your divers/frogmen to search for relics. I never was successful with this part ... EVER ... But that doesn't make it a bad game, I just didn't stick to long enough, and I don't know if you get a hint of some sort before you take off, maybe you can buy a treasure map, or something before leaving the harbour?

It's definitely a strategy game because you are in charge of a team/boat/figuring out where to go, and it's also a management game because you have to keep a keen eye on your finances/petrol/group.
