Youve named four games there and for a systen thats been around as long as the wii its not very good. Unfortunatley in woooing third party support for the wii something wich was lacking for the gamecube theyve opend theflood gates for dross a bit like the gba and ds.
Fine. Geometry Wars, Link's Crossbow Training, No more Heroes, Call of Duty 3, Okami, Dead Space Extraction, Little King's Story, Mario Kart Wii, Boom Blox Bash Party (as a multiplayer game), Lost Winds. How much have you got to spend?
What isn't there is ports of the endless PC-styled alien FPS games that hop back and forth or compete between XBox 360 and PS3. But really, I don't miss them. If all you want to play is the latest version of Gears of War or Burnout then yes, you probably bought the wrong console.
But honestly, are you suggesting that there are no crap games for other consoles? The worst ones on the Wii do tend to be the ports from the 360 or PS3, which is understandable because of the lower specs. If you buy them off the back of the publicity surrounding the PS3 version then you (or at least boozefreak) are bound to be disappointed.

This was one of the reasons I bought the Wii in the first place, because I can't stand the endless slew of FPS games out there, and tactical shooters, and games with ludicrous amounts of cannon fodder to wade through while buckets of blood unconvincingly fly all over the place. But like I say it's still too expensive to just buy games outright, games exchanges are funny here with the new machines to the point where any decent games are only a fraction less expensive used. Wheras a year ago God of War 2 would've still cost you $29.99 used (it was $34.95 2 years ago), and now you can pick it up for $7.95, and the first one for about $4.95. So while the newer stuff stays overpriced the stuff for the older machines keep getting cheaper so I keep buying more and more PS2 stuff. Which is possibly another reason for me neglecting the Wii.

OK I bought Chop til' you drop, I liked it, it was alright, but the extras are pretty naff and I don't really want to play through it again at the min. Maybe I will one day when I've had a break. I said it was short lived and flawed not unbearably shite. I wasn't expecting it to be like the 360 version which incidentally I've never even played, and that is half the reason why I thought the Wii version was alright if only for a short while.
Should I avoid Dead Space Extraction because it's not as good as Dead Space on the 360? I almost bought that a while ago on special for $25. But I missed the Special offer and now it's $40 again. Again too risky to waste the money on, once my bills are paid up and some of my wages have been deposited in the bank $40 is about half of the cash I have left over to play with every week maybe even more than half.
I can't afford to waste most of my post bill paying spends on a big fat turd, and I can't really get to the video shop too often anymore to hire any games, because of the unpredictable days I work. Sometimes it's pointless to hire a game as I'll not even get to have a decent go of it.
I liked Saint's Row for all of a week, and then realised how cack it was... I haven't played the sequel, whenever I see it in shops I just think of how pants the original was and step away from it!! Nothing does GTA better than GTA itself.
You should give SR2 a bash actually...I got the first one and only played multi-player, but 2 is more akin to San Andreas....There's loads of stuff to do, and all the missions can be done in co-op....It does rely a bit too much on "adult" humour, but then so does a lot of GTA..
It definitely comes a lot closer to nailing GTA, and dare I say it, before the DLC came out for GTA4, SR2 was more...fun..I feel that Rockstar has lost something in it's desire to be more "realistic"....but I still find myself going back to GTA4 more than this...

No worries on that score as Extraction is a prequel to the original Dead Space rather than an attempt at a port. As such, it's not cut down for the Wii but rather written for it from the ground up and is easily one of the best looking games on the machine.
I wouldn't recommend buying it at full price mainly for the reason that it bombed so utterly that there are bound to be vast unsold stocks of it that'll come onto the market at some point. It can already be had here, new and sealed, for little more than a tenner, so it's only going to be a matter of time before you can get it for peanuts over there.
Anyway, rather than buy the game, could you possibly rent it from somewhere? It's rather short, and could be played from start to finish inside a day if you've got the inclination.
Dead Space Extraction is a completely different game. Dead Space (the original) is an FPS. On the Wii, Extraction is a lightgun game. Supposedly it's one of the best. I've just bought it because I saw it new for ?12; I haven't played it yet, though the reviews favour it. I'll have to see if it's any better than Crossbow Training.
Now admit it! However hard you try, you still have cravings! You're an FPS addict! But that's something that is lacking in the Wii line-up. Supposedly The Conduit is the best there is, but that's not saying much as no doubt SEGA have ruined it by treating the player like they have a mental age of 3. I've got a copy of Rogue Trooper somewhere, but haven't had time to play that yet either.
The last FPS games I really enjoyed were Goldeneye, Blood, and Shadow Warrior.
I tried Halo I thought it was pretty average, Red Faction Started off OK but soon got boring, I can't stand any of the Time Splitters games, the only Quake that was any good was the first one, and I didn't even think Half Life was all it's cracked up to be, and the Medal of Honour games bore the socks off me.

I've played DS:Extraction quite a lot and it is a very, very good light gun game (possibly the best ever). I certainly wouldn't describe the original Dead Space as an FPS, first and foremost it's viewed from a third person perspective! It is however an excellent game and probably the best survival horror on 360/PS3 - it is certainly considerably better than RE5.
I liked Saint's Row for all of a week, and then realised how cack it was... I haven't played the sequel, whenever I see it in shops I just think of how pants the original was and step away from it!! Nothing does GTA better than GTA itself.
Saints Row 2 is a completly different game from the first one. i had second thoughts about 2 after the dissapointment of the first one, but it's fantastic. It's much more fun than GTA 4 too. GTA 4 is rather poker faced at times, but Saints Row 2 is just so much fun to play and the story is quite interesting too. Plus, it can be picked up for next to nothing as well (I'm sure I've seen it in Gamestation for less than ?8)
Heavenly Sword (PS3) - Looks great, just a bit meh!
I dont tend to have too many crap games these days I try to do as much research as possible before buying a game. ?40 is ?40 and I dont wont to spend it on something that's crap.
I enjoyed Heavenly Sword, but I've found that it's full of difficulty spikes. I've got as far as the boss in the cage (the anoying guy with the wing blades) and I just can't beat the bastard. Everytime I get close, he puls a cheap move out of nowhere and flattens me. It doesn't help that you need spot on prescsion to get the 2 health barrels that are in the background. Another great game ruined by another cheap boss :(
I tend not to buy full price games these days. Unless it's something that I've really been looking forward to, I'll wait until they get abit cheaper. Darksiders is a good example. ?39.99 seemed a bit expensive as it's been getting mid range reviews and it's a game that although I'm interested in, I'd not really been following it for long, so I'm waiting for it to drop in price abit (most places have it for ?29.99 now and that's abetter price for me), but Bioshock 2, I brough 2 days after release because I've been looking forward to it and followed it's development for quite a while. I didn't mind the ?39.99 asking price (plus, as a bonus, Game had some pre-order only cards left and gave me one of them, so i've got 2 extra multiplayer characters to use)
Hang on. No good Wii games? Uh, hello, Super Mario Galaxy. Truly one of the greatest games ever made and with a sequel due (the first direct Mario sequel) I can't wait.

Wat the worst games on wii are ports from other systems!!???!!.surley Id have said the worst games on the wii are the ones featuring keith chegwin or the endless number of sports games.
Ive just got Little king story for 6 Quid from sainsburys about 2 hours ago hope its good.

Yeah, I can imagine that the lazy PS3/360 ports are the best of what it has to offer. I can't believe how people are actually buying all the fitness, sporty, quizy, shite. Thanks Nintendo, you gone and killed video games! :D There are some good modern games out there for me, mainly on the PS3, but just not enough to warrent me buying one for myself. I think I'll wait to see what the PS4 has to offer. Jeepers, I'm in a grumpy mood this evening!

Super Mario Galaxy!
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess!
Tiger Woods 10 with motion plus!
Metroid Prime!
I got a Wii about a month ago could you suggest a list of the best games to look for? I know there have already been some suggestions but was I wondering if there are others. I currently have Zelda and Mario Kart and they are both good. Also downloaded some of he old classics from the Virtual Console. Not too fond of Nintendo's cute style either, but if the game is fun then I can deal with it.

I'd give up. There are some folks who just simply hate the Wii and/or Nintendo and no amount of you throwing great (and I mean **great(est ever)**) games back at them will they listen.
For what it's worth, I agree with you. Out of all my gaming machines the Wii is probably the one i've spent least time on. Contrary to that, when I've found a game I love, I have easily spent more time on those games than on my other machines (apart from Oblivion). For that reason, I won't get rid of it as the next time-sapper is but around the corner.

It's good all right. I hope you've got plenty of time on your hands. :)

Given what the two of you (and ZX Beccy) have said about it, perhaps I will it a chance... I have seen it cheap in my local Gamestation, so I'll pick it up at some point.
Also - get yourself the Homebrew Channel then you can play homebrew and emulators of stuff like Spectrum, C64, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, Amiga, Mega Drive, etc etc
Metroid Prime - That's a Game Cube game isn't it? Looked okay, but not amazing. I'll give it a go one day.
Well, yes, but the third was on the Wii, and of course you can now get the Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii, slightly enhanced (the first 2 didn't need much in the graphics and aural department) and with Wii controls which are wonderful.
Then, as already mentioned, you can't rule out RE4 Wii - simply the best RE game ever made. In fact, 2 of the greatest games of this decade are on the Wii - Super Mario Galaxy and RE4.
OK, but what's crud? The game, golf or motion plus?
Well, I played the 360 version which fortunately negates the embarrassment of motion plus. (I think!) I detest all that sort of thing, makes me shudder just thinking about it.
Now, golf games I usually like, but in the same week that I played Tiger Woods 10, I also bought Everybody's Golf on PSX and Mario golf on N64, which I loved. Tiger just seemed like several steps back, with poor graphics being totally reliant on HDMI, therefore forgoing any effort to make them look realistic. It just made me want to play PGA 2001 on the PC instead. Now that's a good'un!
Have had another ganders at Metroid, and yes, it looks good - but, oh, I dunno, I think I'm expecting too much from these machines. Still haven't been totally wowed yet. *sigh*
The best part of Tiger Woods 10 is the secret mini-game with the 20 mistresses.
Seriously, the motion plus isn't an embarrassment with the game but rather what makes it; you actually get something that feels remarkably similar to playing golf for real and, unlike most earlier sports games for the Wii, it can't just be reduced down to making the right sort of waggles.
I guess it's not going to be for everyone, and for fans of old-school golf games going back as far as Leaderboard, that's particularly going to be the case. Still, there's obviously a lot of people who think otherwise hence the success of sports games on the Wii.
One of the worst modern games i ever played was 'State of emergency' (if you can call that modern, it must be 5 or 6 years old now) on the xbox.
Another one was True Crime, also on the xbox. A GTA style game, it was full of bugs and was constantly crashing. Shame on you Activision!
Also - get yourself the Homebrew Channel then you can play homebrew and emulators of stuff like Spectrum, C64, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, Amiga, Mega Drive, etc etc
Can you do that without getting the Wii adapted in some way?
I have installed Bannerbomb following the instructions on the wiki. Avoid the Wii version of Bust-A-Move.
The Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess - Not played the first Zelda game yet. The latest DS one on that advert is enough to put anyone off.
Tiger Woods 10 with motion plus - Ugh, crud.
Metroid Prime - That's a Game Cube game isn't it? Looked okay, but not amazing. I'll give it a go one day.
All the best,
Mister Hard-to-please. :)
Thanks for the suggestions. ;-)
