Defying Gravity
I watched the last episode of Defying Gravity (sci-fi series) yesterday. It was episode 13: the season finale of the first (and, it would seem, only) season.
As far as I can tell, it's been axed -- which was obvious really, as it was really quite interesting. Not at all like the reality/soap/gameshow crap that typically fills our airwaves and runs and runs... and runs.
I'm pretty sad not to see how this series would've turned out, as it's one of those ones that clearly had a multi-season story in mind, and Something Going On.
Did anyone else here watch the show?

Didnt know about that but thats a ridiculous thing to use in a promo ! Really want a decent sci-fi series to watch but there doesnt seem to be anything decent around.
Not a fan of british sci-fi at all, dont like any old Star Trek series, i'm hanging out hope for the Star Wars live action series but thats being pushed back a ton and might be 2012 now. Just hope theres not a whole episode for Jar jar frickin Binks
Well, they didn't. That was the whole point of those thingies they put behind their ears. It seems like a completely irrelevant point to bring up as it's not even close to what the show is about. I never saw the promos, though, because I got the episodes off the net.
I liked the show. I wasn't fantastic but it was sci-fi, which I'm a sucker for, and at the end of the day it was basically 'Lost...but in space'...but I'd rather watch this than Lost.
I won't miss the fat slob and I won't miss the extremely annoying (but good looking) hispanic chick, but I will miss Laura Harris. GOD she's cute. ;)

Hated the way she kept jumping in and out of Spanish - it was like watching Dora the Space Explorer, lol.
ok, sold.. not that that was hard -- I do have a sci-fi problem and I know it. Will give it a try.
If you haven't watched 'Dead Like Me' you should. Cynical, witty entertainment for a half hour. Laura plays a recurrent character in this one too but starting in season 2 I think.

Is that the one with the girl who gets hit by the airplane toilet? I've seen some of those shows, quite funny.
I have, and I love it. :)

Yeah, as has been said, that's a bit of a weird way to try to sell the series (having seen it). Maybe they were trying to appeal to the 'lowest common denominator', which clearly doesn't include you! ;)
On the subject of Lost: although I'm all for on-going mystery in a series, the fact that, if I recall correctly, the Lost people have openly said they're only about three or four episodes ahead of the audience plot-wise, this does feel like we're being strung along for the sake of it.
At least the creator of Defying Gravity had three or so seasons of the show planned out, and knew what the answers to all the mysteries he was setting up.
Of course, having been axed after one season, the net effect is the same...
