Oh no, that'll be another one for the Crap Sci-fi films thread me thinks. Looks, erm, not-very-good. I'm still looking forward to a proper sequel to the first film, praps set in American civil war. I don't think it's ever going to happen though as no one seems to want to do anything but popcorn movies with him. Predator deserves better than that! And they called it, "Predators" ?! Sheesh, that's so lame. :( Not happy.
I read on IMDB that this is mean`t to be a direct sequal to the first one.Completely bypassing the events of Predator 2 and the AvP films altogether.
Well, at least they're doing that bit correctly - It should bypass Pred 2 and AVP as they weren't meant to be proper sequels - just based on the comics. Still looks like a cheap cash-in... I hope I'm proved wrong!

I don't think it looks cheap at all....already looks far better than any of the AVP stuff...and it seems to have a decent cast, and I like the fact they're introducing more Predator-types...Robert Rodriguez is one of my favourite directors too, so his involvement (even if it is only Producer) is filling me with hope...
I liked the first AvP as a cool 'what-if' scenario. It was also good that it only ran for 50 minutes - I couldn't have taken much more, although the dialogue was good throughout - a much better script than most alien/predator films. Oh, and I liked the way the set creators had paid attention to the original concept of Alien. Nice pyramids!
As always though, it could have been much better. It's a shame that they didn't stick to the source material more as there were some excellent happenings in the comic strip, with those fantastic brightly coloured aliens on different planets. Also why didn't they continue with Batman Vs Predator? That was the best comic of the lot, and Gotham was the perfect hunting ground - would have made an amazing film. Still, we have Batman: Deadend, which is a nice taster to what could have been. :)
Not seen AvP2 so I couldn't comment. Predalien looked nice!
Oh, and when I said 'Predators' looks cheap, I didn't mean the visual effects, just the setting, the pacing of the trailer and what dialogue they have used to showcase the film. Reminds me of 'Deep Blue Sea.' Not a bad film, but hardly stretching the possibilities. I expect much more these days. 'Predator 1' got it spot-on I think, and it'd take a very special writer and director to better it. I'm very nervous about it so far... We shall see.
You would think. However, I've just seen COTT - in 3D no less - and was disappointed. Good special effects but the story meandered and the characters weren't fleshed out properly.

Were you really expecting it to be any good though? I'll wait for Blu-Ray/DooVD myself.
