Flood II animations from 1992 (not Spectrum!).
Here's a video of some animations & graphics I did for a game called 'Flood 2' in 1992 which I was making for a company called 'Bullfrog'. It was never finished but the graphics, which I hadn't seen for nearly 20 years have all been salvaged from the discs. The video shows various nasties, objects, a look through the l...evel map and various speech bubbles that were to be used in the game. At the end is my animation of 'Kuato' from the game of 'Total Recall'. All these graphics were made on an Atari St and were filmed on my phone camera from a PC running an ST emulator.
Thanks to Jim Bagley for salvaging the files for me.

would fraps have worked instead of using your phone? It records whatever image is on the pc screen.

...I can't believe my good luck in timing!...
I can't wait to see the sprite sheets... And I for one will certainly "Watch this space"...
Thanks Mark, for sharing a facinating glimpse of gaming history with us!
It's running on Oceans in-house Sprite and Map Editor "Fud-Ed" written by John Brandwood. Not sure if that's ever been salvaged from an old Ocean disc before. I shall have to ask!
Does Fraps record moving images? I don 't really use a PC anymore and had to borrow one to get the ST emulator running.

...Anyone interested in viewing these files might want to use something like STeem, from http://steem.atari.st/steem_v3_2.zip
I configured it to read a PC folder as an ST drive and simply dumped the files there...
Using the editors themselves, there is some scope for then dumping the sprites and maps to screen as .NEO images, which can then be converted to .BMP using something like the following viewer:
http://dahstra.rksmithfamily.net/spectrum/zip/stviewer_v0.27_06062001.zip
..Unfortunately, the editor tends to cut off anything that extends beyond the screens boundaries, so another option for grabbing the graphics might be to use STeem's own screen grabbing function, and then restitching the grabbed images back together again...
..something Ill be tempted to do myself when I have some time...
It has 4 independent bitplanes. This is how it looks in hexpad.
was the main character called 'spliffy' or something.
tsk,tsk trust you!!
