Nice one, dude :) Good video. It's certainly turned into quite a team effort! As Jack98 said, it's nice that this thread started out as a ...anyone finished... thread and has ended as a ...yay we've finished... thread!!

Indeedy! In a tiny way, I feel a little chuffed that I'm part of the solution to the long suffering problem of the final disc of RAMH. Even though I only dealt with the video part of it!
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

No worries dude, your snapshot made it all a piece of cake really. All these years of not being able to complete it, eh? And then we all join forces and get it done. How cool is that??

Well it wouldn't be on YouTube without your help. So give yourself a huuuuuuge pat on the back.

Cheers all.
It is really cool! I LOVE the fact that this is such a great little community and we can get together at times and do something like this. The video (and the ability to roll back!) is the icing on the cake :) People getting involved and helping out is brilliant.
To quote my user name on here - it's all good!!!

Aye, 'tis a beautiful thing.
Now if only I could get everyone to band together and complete Mugsy's Revenge... ;)
I finished Mugsys Revenge...I think? Continued until prohibition ended iirr
I've made it to that point before, but I've never been sure if it's the "proper" ending or not. I remember having a homebrew remake of it on the Amiga, and that one ended properly once prohibition ended *and* you had made a certain amount of money (something silly like ?10M, which was easier in the bootleg version as you could kill off the taxman after the first few years).
Cool, just read through the whole thread cos I can't sleep and watched the Youtube clip. Maybe, just maybe, that was what was keeping me awake, not knowing how a game this old ended. :)

Good effort!
Hehehe... I think I too slept a little easier once it had been finished. ;)
Phew! Talk about cutting it fine though eh?! Got it on the LAST DAY! Plus that run of publicity near the end was most fortunate! Bloody well played mate!

Did you purposely include the words "bootleg" and "homebrew" in a post about prohibition? ;)

I think the last disc always appears right on the last day of the game. It happened that way every time I finished it from itsallgood's snapshot. And I always try to have a few days of publicity in a row (Rollback is extremely handy for this... you can just revert to the save point if you get bad publicity ("Sultry Susan Stole My Whip" etc.) or if one of your rockstars dies). :)
It's right here (bottom of page 9 on the default thread layout).

Doing it with snapshot saves doesn't have quite the same effect somehow, you always get the same thing happening. Does anybody know why that is?

It's not like that for me... I used to use snapshot saves until I found out about Rollback (which just makes reverting to a save a lot quicker basically, provided you're recording an RZX).

I dunno, maybe it's just me :D Could be the emulator I'm using maybe.
Here's an old PC pop management game called Rockstar - entirely text-based and obsessed with drugs like all these things are! But not a bad diversion as I recall. One good thing was the level of customisation, if you had the time you could change all 200 bands and song titles in the game. Has four charts - local/UK/Europe/US - so very satisfying for the chart enthusiast. It was produced by Wizard Games who were noted for their intensive shareware football management sims, 1-0 and Goal! - do check those out too.
Thanks for video taping the ending. I can cross "Finish Rock Star ate my Hamster and see how it ends" off my "things to do before I'm 30" list :) Now to go beat Streaker!

Maybe... give it a go in ZX Spin, that's what I've been using. I used this same method to win at poker in my RZX of The Wild Bunch. :-)

Spent so many hours on this back in the day, and now I've finally seen the ending. Now I can die happy. ;)
