I must admit I was a bit doubtful when you said you have a player from India. I mean I haven't seen anyone in the Speccy community from India anywhere here on WoS (and I haven't been anywhere near CSS)! So it's a pleasant surprise to see that a certain "carbo" from Calcutta has signed up for the Speccy tour! Finally, another Indian specchum!

You'd be surprised of how many lurkers are around Wos and CSS. Myself I read this forum often but only posted 2 times. I think this forum is getting very interesting so I might show up more times.

And yes, it's nice to have Asia covered, right now we have players of every single continent :D

Sh*t! No Gunrunner, Ranarama, Splitting Images, Travel with Trashman or Ant Attack - and I have to put up with Maziacs and Jumping Jack!

Anyway, this year's selection looks much better to me than last year's one - shivers still run down my spine as I think about Aquaplane, Lode Runner, Ping Pong, Fred or The Light Corridor.

Arjun: Shamed I forgot Africa XD

Alessandro: nice to read you again. I'm not very happy neither, since my fav games didn't make to the ST too. I prefered Super Scramble rather than another smashing keys game, for instance.

BTW you are a regular Speccy Tour member, would you like to judge some of the games this year? if interested let me know. Plan this year is to divide more games among some judges we rely on (well known), and perhaps, we'll judge only the best games week by week (we'll confirm them all eventually) in order not to waste time in a game that will have better score by same player next week.

    Regards

I also voted for Gunrunner. Why don't people like this brill piece of Software?

It only got 4 votes :(

    Bye.

I can't understand why Uridium is so underrated neither. Gun runner is good, fast, and fun.

I wanted Super Scramble too rather than Smashing the keys (got enough with Hypersports)

But you ask a question, and I'll give you mine. A sound pops me when I receive Tour mails. 80% of people vote, just inmediatly after signing up: I'd bet manu vote the games they 'know' rather than testing'em. Thus names like Tetris or Renegade are always fighting for top voted games... and Show Jumping will never compete with Daley Thompson :(

Gun runner is a good game, but perhaps, a bit underrated or undermentioned, at the least.

Then there are "country" loves. It's obvious how Batty is voted by british players mainly, or how how Fred made to the tour last year with many Spanish votes.

I share your opinion my friend!

Muchas gracias por la tu pregunta, Ivan, but I am afraid I won't have enough spare time to act as a judge as well. However, I can't help noticing how the majority of signed players always come from Spain. Looks like the Spectrum was more popular there than in the UK. 35 out of 73 signed players are Spanish - that's almost half of them.

It goes without saying that I'm not pleased at all to see only 2 players from Italy, including me

It is also strange to see there is nobody from France or Germany. It's even strangest to see no players from Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia or the former Soviet Union, considering how the Spectrum and its local clones are still popular there.

Don't worry, time is a treasure, I know. Just make your best in your recordings, last year we expected a bit more fight from you! :)

About countries , yes, I wish we had more "East block" players. Every time a guy from Poland or, like this year, Ukraine, signs up, we write him in order to bring more, but no luck at the moment. If anybody knows a forum where I could reach more people of this countries, please tell me.

Oh and if anybody wanted to do the translation to other idioms such as Russian it would be great too... I know language might be a big gap.

About Spanish "invasion", yes, there are many Specchums around here, only a few guys at our schools had a CPC or MSX, and the Amiga was for posh-rich guys of the school :)
