I'm in shock
Was in work today when the section manager called me and some others into a small office saying he wanted a word with us, i thought we were going to get the sack but we were told that one of our colleagues had passed away, a guy called Andy, i had known him for 11 years and was very friendly with him, he trained me up when i first started. I couldn't believe it, apparently he died in hospital of septicemia, he was only 39.
I couldn't believe it and nearly burst into tears, i didn't even know he was ill (no one did). I've spent the whole day on auto pilot, i still can't take it in. He was a really friendly guy, a good laugh. He always cheered me up when i was pissed off. No one can really believe he's gone.
The funeral is on tuesday so i'll be there. It's a real shame.

The trouble with tribbles is.......

A guy I worked with back home at WHSmiths topped himself out of the blue, he was healthy quite happy, normal geezer, hard working good sense of humour, got on with everyone OK, nobody would've expected it. But he did.
We all found out though later he'd got some bad news medically, thought he had the big C, instead of waiting for his results he offed himself, and the big slap in the face for his dad was a week or so after he did it, his results turned up and they were negative.
Life's a shit basically :(
...I'm learning that life is all about re-winding the tape, typing in LOAD "" and pressing play!
Simple things keep you happy and keep you going lad, chin up eh?
It is really confusing when young people die:(
My brother-in-law topped himself two months ago.. no big loss there, he was a major league scumbag - he was serving serious time in prison.
im so sorry and :sad:to hear this.
it sounds like he was a very nice chap.
its obviously came as a terrible shock to all of you.
But then you get taught better, as did I almost 5 years ago when my ex-fiance was murdered at the age of 27.
Otherwise I can only go with what STeaM said ... keep the fond memories of your loved ones, making them live on.
with hearing about deaths and illness of late. it's errm puts things into perspective.
errm the sad thing is I'm used to funerals etc as my mum is the youngest of 5 and well all my cousins are near double my age..
no one ever knows what to say , no matter how old you get.. it's just one of them things.
if you remember a person fondly , I think that's the main thing and they had an impact in your life in some way :)
I'm going to buy a condolence card for his family, but i can't begin to imagine how they must be feeling since it was all so sudden.
