Poking Super Hang On

You guys are really good at poking. What I'd like to know is this- is there a guide online that helps explain the basics of poking games to the philistines? For example, I want to increase the time on the counter when playing the excellent Super Hang On. Fiddling around with the infinite time register didn't do much, so I realise I should try and learn a bit myself. Is it not too difficult, or is it just like learning any other language?

I don't recall a guide to explain the basics of poking games to the philistines?
Seems like any author would have quite a limited readership.

But in the Documentation section of WoS there is a How To Hack guide by Jon North and will explain everything you need to know.

I suppose the other thing to say is it ain't that simple, you need to put a bit of graft and commitment into it. But once you grasp the fundamentals then everything else will fall into place.
