Any starcraft 2 players?
I got Starcraft II a week or two back, it's the first modern game I've been excited over for... for, well, forever. I loved the original Starcraft even though I was pretty average at it.
Anyone want to do some multiplayer SC II? I've been playing with/against random people so far (and mostly losing badly...on the beginner's games...) but tonight I did a lovely early siege tank drop on my enemy and wrecked his economy and he quit, and I actually was on the winning side for a change :-) So satisfying when you drop two tanks and four persecutors in the middle of their peons, especially when they were building their base to make it difficult for land attacks to get there, and thus impeding his own troops :-)

Averaging about 5 hours a night for the last couple of weeks now and loving it. Great graphics and sound and for once a half decent story. Played on a good PC it takes the pee out of any 360 or PS3 game I've got for graphics.
Its costing me far too many 3 in mornings, good job I am unemployed at the moment.
I've found the AI doesn't really train (well, other than helping you remember the keyboard short cuts, or perhaps trying a strategy idea) you all that well against the deviousness of a human opponent.
I have noticed in the noob's league though, the usual strategy is "go for lots of air units" almost exclusively (although I did die to a zealot rush last night, first time it's happened). Also victory is almost 100% linked to how well you harvest resources. It's because of this I'm perfecting the early air dropped tank push (some of the noob league maps are too easy to defend against a land attack, but are very exposed to dropping two tanks and a few soldiers or persecutors amongst the peons for a session of peon killing) which should help lead to 2 -> seriously retarding the opponent's economy as now they have to wait for a new batch of peons (and it usually forces them to "turtle up" by building defensive buildings instead of building up their army).
The trouble is I don't tend to follow it up, I get distracted by my tank push when I should really flick back to the base and start building new units for the second tank push and start building an air force, so if my opponent survives the initial attack usually they end up killing me anyway because I'm too slow to follow it up with something else...
One thing I've noticed is hardly anyone plays as zerg any more. On SC1, 90% of people did zerg and nothing else (I preferred Protoss). One thing I've noted in the noob league is if the other team has a protoss player, it usually means they have a bit more experience (the real noobs like myself are always playing Terran). I can almost 100% predict our side's chance of winning judging by where the protoss players are. Two terrans against protoss? No chance. Not because terran is crap, but because the two Protoss players are probably better.
If you want to perfect this sort of tactic play something like "safe Haven" or "Havens Fall" in the campaign. The only way you can get the higher achievements is by developing at least two and preferably three offensive forces at the same time. I say safe Haven(s) Fall because its the easiest of the "save so many outpost" missions. You need both a ground force and an air force as well as a half decent defence although you can get away with next to no defence.
There is no doubt the most important unit is the SCV as the economy will decide the ultimate winner of the game. The first thing I do is to bump out as many SCV's as I can with my starting credits and if I need to bang out a quick army invest in a reactor so I can train two units at once. Its worth dedicating an SCV to building (especially supply depots if your going for a rush attack). Also remember its cheaper to repair / heal units rather than produce them so medics are a worthwhile investment and send your land forces with a couple of SCV's (so they can mend each other) to extend the life of your attack tanks.
If your having problems with air attacks try having a couple of marine + medics groups at your base with a couple of missile turrets and SCV's set to auto-repair (which are quick and cheap to build) and then you can concentrate on your offensive. It might be worth considering using Vikings for your early forces as they can handle both air and ground violence quite well.
I might change my build order slightly and instead of 4 persecutors, have 8 marines in the second drop ship, although they aren't as tough, there's more targets for the unfortunate defender to try and shoot before they can get at the tanks...
(can't play multiplayer cause it's *ahem* *cough*)
Started the campaign...did 2 of the 'training' levels...got bored..didn't see anything that hasn't been done to death.
...installed Supreme Commander 2 got the 'hahah your graphics card wont run this game, go buy a new computer!!!' message.
Watched a movie instead.
Mine wont play Supreme Commander because it needs shader 3 or something and my card doesn't support it....Im not goint to fork out the $$ for a new card when the rest of the computer is ancient (P 3.4 extreme..single core) and AGP.
Seems like 1 in 3 games require it now from those I try/tried.
Starcraft 2 ran well though.
