    Rebelstar, obviously.

The sequel is good, but didn't work so well as a 2-player game, due to the naff stampede shootout at the begining. Far too limited in gameplay.

    Rebelstar tho is groovy, baby!

I've not played either so I'll hold off voting until I see some convincing arguments of why I should vote for one or the other. Graz has made a good start making me think I should vote for the 1st game... :)

I used my vote for Rebelstar, didn't think much of the second one tbh.

Actually, I'd say that the sequel is better balanced as a 2-player game. In the first one it's far too easy for the defender to just camp behind a few choke points and blast anyone who comes near them with opportunity fire; you need to add a few house rules to make a proper game of it. The aliens in Rebelstar 2 do have some advantages from a defensive position, but don't really have the weapons to fully exploit it.

As a single player game, I'd also say that Rebelstar 2 is better, although it's sufficiently tough that you're unlikely to get far if you've not already mastered the first game.

Anyway, there should be no surprises in the way I'm voting.
  • This is a tricky one. Rebelstar 2 was the first strategy game I ever played but Rebelstar has a lawnmower in it. Decisions...

Haha, yeah, loved the way you could choose to mow the lawn while there's a critical fire fight going on around you. Especially when it's not even your own lawn! :-D

Definitely going for the original on this one. Rebelstar vs Laser Squad might have been a different proposition (if LS was a budget game of course).

Afraid it's a null vote from me here, as I've never played either. Might give them a wee go later on.

Not played either so cant really vote!
  • Not played either so cant really vote!

I would strongly advise rectifying that. 2 of my fave speccy games.
I went for the 1st cos no. 2 was prone to crashing.

Rebelstar...because it was the first :).

Rebelstar...because it was the first :).

Mister pedant says that it was actually the second, cuz Rebelstar Raiders was the first. Ah well. ;)

Then again, mister funny-git says that Rebelstar is actually a remake, so that doesn't count. :D

Same here. This rule is true in many games.

I voted for the second because it has a much better 1 player game.

I like them both , but went for the 1st.

Rebelstar 2, because it was the first one I played....
