Hypersports, help!

edited September 2010 in Games
I suddenly felt like playing this great game, so I loaded in my +2A, but...I cant get past the 3rd level!

The thing is that I dont remember when I had to press space or right and left just after the first jump. I have tried many combinations, but none seems to work.

So anyone remembers after when you press space to jump, what do you exactly have to do?

Thanks!

level 3 is spring / vault (my fav level I guess)

    speed up.. left right

jump on the board *fire*.... you go on the vault then .. when your straight again hit fire / jump

if you don't hit fire when doing handstand , you'll fall / fault

left / right to do somersaults.. BUT try to land on your feet or time it so you do :)

And in the weight lifting bit at the end, the mighty JOF wins!

I've managed 9.99 a few times on the 'vault' level before. Im guessing that's the max you can score. love the bouncy along the ground head thing he does if you land wrong sometimes!

I used to be hit / miss with tripple jump and weight lifting..

but c64 version will always have the edge solely for galway's version of the vangelis tune..

Im convinced the heaviest weight is impossible. the amount of time you get is nowhere near enough to build up any sort of 'rhythm'. - cos it's not a case of flat-out button bashing on that event (even though that does seem to also work on the lightest weights)

there is an "auto waggle" thing on retrospec.. so that'd give the definitive answer I guess :)

dunno if you can adjust it to "human" mode.hehe

WELCOME TO TWENTY YEARS AGO (or whatever number of years it was)

i was EXACTLY the same ..... stupid vault!!!

You don't have to waggle to run. Just fire to start auto running, fire to jump. You only waggle to do the somersaults.

the faster you run.. the further along the vault you get.. the more height / somersaults you do :)

No, as far as I can recall Frank is right... once you start, it takes you up to full running speed automatically, no waggling required. It's the timing of the springboard that determines how far you get along the vault.

You do need to waggle on the run-up for the triple jump, though.

nothing.. I gave up june , the year before last (finally :) )

but it's not the same with all versions? that surprises me it doesn't affect things.

edit : 64 one doesn't it either, I guess I was confusing with the triple jump.. but the speccy one does have the energy meter?

It does have the energy bar at the bottom, but it builds up automatically once you've started the run.
