Viking Raiders, perhaps? The gameplay is pretty straightforward enough, and a few more players and a bigger map wouldn't ruin it.

    Gauntlet!!!

I've always thought an online Turbo Esprit would be awesome. One team of players could be cops, and the other criminals. Or a small team of human cops against the computer-controlled crims. Just a thought.

On a more realistic note though, I think Rampage could be quite fun online.

    The most obvious: Gauntlet.

Another game I'd like to play on-line: The Way of the Exploding fist and similar ones, like International Karate. It would be cool.

    TT Racer

BTW, does this game had option to connect 7 modem players (on Speccy!!!)

Not a speccy game but I used to love this on the Amiga.

space crusade and hero quest would be quite good, not very frantic game play. but still good.

    Another vote for this one!

    And Laser Squad!

Are you asking about PC remakes or is this something that might make it all the way to the Speccy and the upcoming Spectranet?

I'm sure that once the Spectranet becomes popular we'll have not just real Spectrums online, but also emulated Spectranets!

Ohh, that be great, but here we need 'shade' on 'left 3/4 of screen' for situations when other player is in charge ;-) if we can see his/her moves, that will spoil the fun.

Kind of electronic-'handshake' can deal with that, especially for "Opportunity fire" situations. (that why 1/4 of screen should be 'always visible' - no one can cheat).

This story goes for all games with "Hidden Move" option (Vulcan,...).

    Battle 1917
...can provide some fun too ;-)

then Angleball, SD Snooker... (as 'mile' said - non frantic... games :-))

Cannon Fodder would be great as mates as your team, or even as enemies, :)
    So far, so meh :)

We should try and get a few people back into the online Jet Set Willy game. That was a good laugh with a lot of different types of games, crazy seeing all these 'Willies' running about (Miles no !)

    This page should help...

    http://jsw.ovine.net/

Heres a youtube video of it...

One of the types of games, might have been assault course is funny as anything seeing all the characters at the start all legging it trying to win the race.

Get it working and once you do we'll have to get a few more people and organise an online game

Hmm, Windows only... I will have to try it in the WindowsXP VM I have stuck somewhere. If it works, then I will report back here. (Or you can start a new JSW Online thread heheh).
    So far, so meh :)

I'd like to see Psycho Pigs online. Don't know if there are any versions/variations of this around already, would be surprised if there weren't, though I couldn't locate one immediately after a quick google search.

Used to love the speccy version of this game. And it wasn't just for the very slightly dodgy adverts for it..

I can't seem to get JSWOnline working under XP in a VM... Is there any requirements that I should be aware of, such as certain versions of DirectX etc...?
    So far, so meh :)

I never got JSW online to work...

JSW Online was awesome...hopefully, one day, they'll release v3.0.

I know Julian Gollop made a strange PC e-mail version of LASER SQUAD but
the speccy version online multiplayer would be amazing as would REBELSTAR
    and CHAOS.

There is remake of CHAOS with a points system on some website that i saw
but it was god awful so i won't be visiting it again! EEK....

Hey what about multiplayer SCUBA DIVE? hahaha

I was gonna post this last night!...but thought everyone would laugh at me.

But, a cool multiplayer cowboy game, life at risk, under the desert sun, open arena...few places to snipe....aceness!

would love an online version of Striker by cult games, each person could play a different player and see who comes out on top over their carear

There are a lot of obvious choices in the sports genre.

Think of games like Match Day (I / II), Emlyn Hughes, Match Point, and the denienced Codies Sims.

Then again, there is a version of Emlyn Hughes online, but that's for brown lovers.......
