It could be worse ! Imagine being in charge of the Commonwealth Games in India ! That must be super stressful the next 10 days !!! (To be fair theyve known for 7 years).
Everytime that news article come up i kinda feel sorry for them. Seems a huge mess (Sorry for hijacking the thread, i thought i wont start a new one)

Fluoridation of drinking water, and Fluorine in toothpaste is there to reduce tooth decay and cavities. It is not a Communist mind control conspiracy, a way to dispose of waste from the Manhattan Project, or any of the other crackpot theories. :p
In many places water contains significant quantities of Fluorine anyway naturally. In some places the concentrations in the groundwater are too high and the drinking water supply has to be DE-Fluoridated.
I suppose I must be a government agent... Working for several different governments and shadowy organisations around the world, all trying to keep you all under control lol

Every time I read that the oldest person in the world has died, I have to do a quick check to see it isn't ME..........
Apparently Flouride makes the tooth enamel hard but brittle. Leading to more visits to the dentist.
I have no idea where you get this from, the only adverse effects of fluoridated water is increasing the possibility of fluorosis which only happens while your teeth are growing anyway.
Hitler used it in the concentration camps to keep the poor souls dosile, like brainwashed sheep.
I can't actually find any real sources for this anyway, but even if he did, that's a ridiculous argument for arguing against controlled use of *minute* amounts of fluorine in water. Should using herbs in food be banned? most of them are poisonous. Do you like rosemary? That causes spasms, vomiting, coma and death :)
Besides, that's nonsense, does Uganda have high obesity and heart problems? just an example, since the water there has naturally higher levels of fluorine than the recommended level. There are plenty of other countries with high levels of fluorine in the water that don't happen to be developed western countries with McDonalds drive-thrus :p
Been in some serious pain the last couple of days, I have a dentist apointment in 1 hour, not looking forward to it, but I can't take much more of this.
I think I've learnt a lesson. Look after yout teeth people, and keep going to the dentist. ;)

It's an old conspiracy theory going back to the '50s. In the US, paranoics claimed that the government's fluoridation of the water supply was part of a "Communist" plot to control people and that this had been "pioneered" by German chemists during the Nazi era to make people easier to control (its parodied in Dr Strangelove with Jack D Ripper's "Communist infiltration" speech so it was presumably quite old-hat by then). As far as I know, no evidence exists for the "Hitler used fluoride to control people" claim. I'm speculating here but it's possible that the Nazi regime fluorided water for heath reasons (they were similiarly ahead of their time on the issue of tobacco smoking) and, since it was the Nazis, it was assumed by laypeople reading about it that it must have been done for more nefarious reasons.
Unsurprisingly, in the poster shown in this wikipedia article fluoridation of water is put alongside anti-vaccination paranoia, another longstanding favourite of conspiracists, as part of the "Communist plot".

I totally agree with you !
The problem is nowadays we have the internet, so people can do any wacky searches they want and then come out with some crazy crazy conspiracy theories about fluoride in the water causing problems etc etc or in Grey Keys case (Sorry fella but that previous post was just silly) about the toxic banana boxes etc. Just ridiculous !
So forget all the professors who have years and years of experience, lets base our opinion on some wacko who has a website who says xxxx is bad for you so it must be true !
I would rather believe a dentist on tv saying toothpaste nowadays is far better than it used to be than some crazy page on the net saying how evil fluoride is and how the government are trying to control us etc !
