Oooh, nice find. That game looks fab. That's how I would have liked Led Storm to be.

  • Just been playing this. It's still very playable and way better than the coin-op. The only thing that annoys me is that little road taking you to the water. That's where I keep dying.

Good controls, cars move smoothly, graphics are okay. Sound is poor and what is the point of having oil and smoke? They both do the same thing. Overall though this is good. I'd say low 80s for this one. Not quite a Smash but has aged better than a lot of Speccy games thanks to being simple to start with.

I try and avoid the water as i tend to die quicker in there.
I also know a way to get past the helicopter if you have no rockets.

I think you're referring to avoiding every missile the helicopter launchs. After 4 or 5 attempts the helicopter leaves.

After some practice is very easy to do that.

In fact, Spy Hunter is an easy game to play.

  • Spy Hunter was a game that was always being played at my primary school's 'computer club'. I'm pretty sure I played the speccy, C64 and CPC versions. I really enjoyed the speccy port. It's just one of those ports that worked really well. The only other game I remember playing at that club was the C64 version of Icicle Works. Really liked that too (sorry!).
