Was there ever a game of Ice Hockey made for the speccy? Just wondering because all my Canuck friends are always watching it on the telly and saying how good it it.
It looks like there was International Ice Hockey as well but its MIA
You mean Championship Ice Hockey, and it appear to be a management game. Most games came for the UK, and I don't think Ice Hockey was popular in the UK back then. I even doubt it's popular today in the UK :) That's probably why there never was an Ice Hockey game for the Spectrum :(
And yes, Winter Sports did have Ice Hockey included:

I remember having an small old B/W TV with some crappy videogames including Hockey, Ping Pong and a fronton game... Ping Pong and Hockey were basically the same, with the only difference of the goals that Hockey had in each side (as in the picture) and only a player in each team.
Crappy, but in the late 70's I found them awesome! :-)

Yep those early NHL games were superb on the Megadrive, same with the early John Madden games (92/93) featuring smaller graphics
if ya after wintersports..
as for nhl.. used to play it on the PS.. either 4-8 players (2 multi taps) or i'm getting it mixed up with fifa..
we played a whole season and won.. my and my friends brother were know as the bash brothers.. as we used to just spend a lot of the time in the sinbin
I do remember swapping ea hockey for battle squadron years ago on megadrive though
as for air hockey.. I remember this from 64..

What a pity, those sprites look good.
yes; that was brilliant
as was blades of steel on the NES/Famicom
if the spectrum had gone for another year, EA hockey AND madden 1 would heve been attempted IMO
the market share on speccy wasn't big enough.
even EA stuff on say c64 or apple / atari .. when the market wasn't there.. titles weren't released
(I own / owned them back in the day also .. and dev money Vs sales came into it)
