Technically there are now 5, but Andrew Rollings is taking some time off.

I imagine his first action will be to remove posts from anyone with more posts than him!

If you are in touch with Andrew please give him and his wife our best wishes, I mailed him a couple times but never heard anything and he had mentioned meeting up in Houston a couple months ago when his wife was at the treatment center here.

Hope things are going well for them.

    EDIT: And congrats Karingal

Well to be fair Roger Jowett, Boomzilla, Gamestage and DanSolo were all offered the job first but turned it down ;). All said no apart from Roger who wrote out a 3412 line email ;)

Seconded. I hope for the best, but I know how serious her condition is. I did meet Andrew back before it happened at Retro Replay in Huddersfield last year. Our paths almost crossed again this summer in Madrid, but alas it was not to be.

    My thoughts are with them.

I appreciate that this is a difficult time for Andrew but he said that he was going to step down and he should do so. His position as a mod is untennable.

I dont think we should even bother talking about this right now, its not important and Andrew obviously has much bigger and important things to worry about.

He doesn't need to spend any time worrying about it, he simply needs to do what he said he would do.

BAH! Why didn't I get asked, no-one likes me so I can be totally unbiased... :D
    So far, so meh :)

His not having been to WoS could be seen as a pretty thorough indication.
And that's all I am willing to say about it.

His wife is gravely ill with stage 4 metastatic cancer, I doubt he's been near WOS nor particularly cares to do so at this moment, so it's a bit immaterial really. He's possibly not in a position to step up, down or sideways let alone log on to WOS.

His wife was in exactly the same situation in August when he saw fit to go into #speccy and launch uncalled for personal attacks on me (which led to his ban from both IRC channels), and to repeat unfounded allegations made against me on Facebook and a number of other public places. I am willing to accept that his behaviour may have been out of character owing to his distressing situation. But it is unacceptable for him to continue as a WoSF moderator.

And let's just leave that there before this gets out of hand.

Congrats to karingal, but we're all doomed!!

    :p
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

What a shockingly reprehensible thing to say. Please refrain from further posting to this forum if this is how you want to behave.

What is reprehensible about saying that a mod who has compromised his impartiality should not be a mod? Why should his personal situation have any bearing on this? Or are you saying it's ok for people to go around behaving any way they want so long as they're experiencing a personal tragedy? If I'm blunt then it's because I'm fed up of treading lightly around people who go ahead and jump to conclusions anyway. If my contribution is not wanted so be it.

Nothing. As long as you can prove that his personal situation is a fake.
